MIGROS bread is no longer good

MIGROS Brot ist nicht mehr gut

Guest

Hello everyone,
We are bread lovers. Nothing is finer than the smell of fresh bread....
But we no longer buy Migros bread. They no longer smell good. Unfortunately, they also taste like a large bakery and not like fine dough.
We suspect that Migros is saving on raw materials. In other words, cheap flour, cheap bulk yeast, too much leavening agent.
In addition, there is a huge production with semi-finished products on site.

Please Migros: there are certainly many people who would now much rather visit bakeries that bake their own bread. Not HIESTAND-BROT, of course, but made fresh every day by small businesses. You can smell it!
Make real heavy bread again, not air bread with no flavor and little content.

What do the rest of you think?

When I was little, my mother used to say:

"The baker slept in there."

And that used to happen at both the Coop and the local bakery.

That's right, it can happen from time to time and in my childhood we never quite agreed on whether the baker or a mouse had slept in it ;-) But Migros breads have generally tended to be more air than bread for some years now. There has never been a response to my previous comments and inquiries about this, and there doesn't seem to be one this time either. Be that as it may, fortunately I am not forced to buy my bread at Migros...

Yes, I agree, Migros bread is still better than Coop bread.

Try the organic breads from Migros, they often taste better than the conventional ones.

For example the organic Sonnenhof bread

Above all, the freshly baked breads from Coop are a disaster. The freshly baked bread from Migros is surprisingly good. Of course I prefer fresh bread, but sometimes freshly baked bread is also good as an emergency reserve.

I am a big fan of organic hazelnut bread

I think it is a great pity that almost all breads and rolls contain iodized table salt.

I think the country bread is exceptionally good.

Unfortunately, I have already noticed several times that, especially in the MIGROS CENTER BRÜGG branch near Biel, in contrast to other branches, the bread is poorly baked.
There were patches of raw, sticky dough inside the bread.

Hello

The holes have different causes depending on the dough and processing. Sometimes it is due to the kneading, sometimes to the ingredients, sometimes to letting it rise. Even in industrial production, not every piece of dough is exactly the same as the next, which is why there are always pores of different sizes in the bread. Anyone who has baked bread themselves knows that breads can be different, even if they have been prepared in exactly the same way. This may be due to the ambient temperature or the humidity during proofing.

@Federwolke
This seems to happen more often with Seeländerbrot, which is exactly what we've had before. I then complained to the store by phone because it wouldn't have been enough to bring it back that evening. The customer service team gave me a credit note and I didn't have to return the bread I had complained about. However, I still took a photo and handed it in to customer service when I picked up the replacement bread the next time I went shopping.

Happy Sunday from Migi-Ferkel

well, it seems to be seeländer- but a tunnel bread....

Bread is unhealthy anyway, try something else. If you do, try a spelt loaf or the organic Sonnenhof bread. But there are better things than bread that are healthier.
