I would have welcomed it if Migros had not simply made the promise disappear but had openly admitted that the promise hadnot yet been kept due to new findings. For me, this would have increased Migros' credibility a little and raised hopes that these products would really be taken out of the range. Unfortunately, it is much easier to make something disappear.
Are you actually liable to prosecution if you sell something whose legal expiry date has passed?
An excerpt from the BLW:

Expiry of several authorizations for plant protection products as of 31.07.2015
The following document lists all PPPs for which the authorization expired on July 31, 2015 and for which either no renewal application was submitted or for which the renewal application was rejected. As some of the submitted renewal applications are still being processed, it is quite possible that this list will be supplemented.
Mioplant Natura insecticide 5148 Migros-Genossenschafts-Bund
Mioplant plant protection sticks 4229 Migros-Genossenschafts-Bund
Mioplant Plant Wound Care 5106 Federation of Migros Cooperatives
Mioplant spray against fungal diseases 6163 Federation of Migros Cooperatives Mioplant spray against pests 6164 Federation of Migros Cooperatives
Mioplant weed killer for lawns 5257 Federation of Migros Cooperatives
Mioplant weed seed 2366 Federation of Migros Cooperatives
Mioplant Winch Killer 6230 Federation of Migros Cooperatives
Everyone can see for themselves which products Migros still has in its range.

Hello everyone.
We would like to reiterate our position on our bee promise: Migros explicitly referred to the Greenpeace study "Bye bye bee?" from 2013when formulating the promise. In this study, Greenpeace mentions 7 active ingredients with an effect that is harmful to bees (see Greenpeace study Tab. 1, page 8). When the study was published, Migros listed 10 products that contained these active ingredients. These products were completely liquidated or switched to other active ingredients. Migros is of the opinion that it has always made reference to the "Bye bye bee?" studyin its communication of the promise and continues to considerthe promise to be afalseone. study in its communication and still considers the promise to have been fulfilled. However, we take note of the decision of the Swiss Commission on Fair Trading and are currently reviewing the communication of our promise. We have not simply removed the offending passages, but only removed them from the website during this time. We are examining how we can formulate these passages even more clearly and make it even clearer what we were referring to when we made the pledge.
Time brings new insights in all areas of life. New studies are carried out, new measurement methods are invented or old ones refined, experience is gathered. Improvement is a process; perfecting everything at once is rarely possible. Greenpeace published a new list of harmful substances in Germany on July 27, 2016 and in Switzerland on August 3, 2016. Migros was not informed about the new list, but has of course taken note of it and has been examining it closely since it was published in Germany. Like lists from other associations or NGOs, the list is helpful for Migros, but it is not mandatory. As a Swiss company, Migros complies with Swiss law and only uses substances approved in Switzerland in its products. However, in many areas, such as plant protection products, it voluntarily does far more than is required by law.
We understand that some of you are of the opinion that Migros is not going far enough with its commitment to bee protection. We take note of this opinion and incorporate it into our internal discussions on the subject.
Best regards,
Daniel

Hello@endconsumer
It goes without saying that Migros only sells plant protection products approved in Switzerland.
We no longer stock the following products: Mioplant Natura Insecticide, Mioplant Plant Protection Sticks, Mioplant Plant Wound Care, Mioplant Werren Grains. The other products you mentioned have been re-tested and approved by the FOAG and have therefore been given a new authorization number. The valid authorization number can always be found on the product label and with the number it is possible to find the valid authorization in the PPP directory of the FOAG.
Best regards,
Daniel

Hello Daniel
It's rather sophistical to claim that the promise is considered to have been kept simply because the active ingredient was not yet listed in the Bye-bye Bee report. The promise clearly stated "... that do not endanger bees" and not "... that are not listed in the Bye-bye Bee report".
Migros should therefore clearly communicate that the promise has not yet been kept and delist all products with bee-endangering active ingredients as quickly as possible. Then the promise will apply again. And if Migros really wants to be seen as a pioneer, it should immediately phase out all chemically synthesized pesticides. They really don't need them for the hobby sector.
Best regards,
Londophile

Well, that's something:"Migros explicitly referred to the Greenpeace study "Bye bye bee?" from 2013in its wording."
Here is the media release from 2014 where MIgros mentioned the promise: https://www.migros.ch/dam/jcr:a2bf5596-991c-46b0-93b1-962fd290e8b9/Generation-M-Versprechen-2014.pdf
WHERE DOES IT MENTION ANYTHING ABOUT GREENPEACE?
Now you can all guess what the media reported at the time, based on this media release!
e.g.
http://www.soaktuell.ch/index.php?page=/news/migros-generation-m-mit-neuen-nachhaltigen-versprechen_17526
ANOTHER QUESTION: Does Migros currently not offer any pesticides that endanger bees? (I know there are many, but it doesn't seem so clear to me how Migros sees this and would like an answer)

The fact is that the
Mioplant spray against pests contains the active ingredient lambda-cyhalothrin:http://www.doitgarden.ch/de/garten/pflanzenpflege/pflanzenschutzmittel/spray-gegen-schaedlinge--500-ml/pp.658408200000
Fortunately, there are gardening websites that warn against this:
Attention, plant protection products that are toxic to bees are approved in Switzerland for the control of the box tree moth.
The active ingredient lambda-cyhalothrin (synthetically produced pyrethrin), which is contained in various products for professional horticulture, is toxic to bees. As the active ingredient adheres well to the plant, bees can absorb the substance even days after application.

Even if Migros claims to have only replaced the substances that were criticized in the Greenpeace study, it cannot simply replace them with other substances that are harmful to bees, and certainly not if it promises to no longer offer such substances. Migros deliberately used a new active ingredient, knowing that it was also classified as hazardous to bees.

@Daniel_Migros can you post the answers in the forum instead of replying to me with a private message:
From: Daniel_Migros Sent: 04.08.2016 20:04 Dear Ivan92
We cannot explain every promise in detail in a media release; sustainability issues are often very complex. In the media release you mentioned, however, we write directly under the new promises and include a link: "More information on the new promises can be found on the generation-m.ch website." Each promise was presented in detail there.
We have already written that we are reviewing our communication on the bee promise and want to make it even clearer and more explicit. We are working on this.
Best regards and have a nice evening,
Daniel
This is not a detail, but a central component of this promise. If this is not mentioned, the promise is not understood in the way Migros wanted to promise it. Now you have the salad and everyone thinks that Migros no longer offers any products that contain substances that are critical for bees! Does your statement also apply to the Migros magazine, can't everything be explained in detail there either?

Thank you @ivan92 for publishing the message from Daniel.
@Daniel_Migros It's not the communication that needs to be checked, but the active ingredients in your products and the sources. It's not enough just to ask an environmental organization.
At the moment I really have to control myself not to write offensively.
?????
Facts:
Not one line of the Greenpeace study bye-bye bee was mentioned in the original promise on Generation-M.
Migros continues to sell a pesticide that is harmful to bees and dangerous to humans.
At the time of the changeover, it was already known that the active ingredient lambda-cyhalothrin was hazardous to bees (if people had been thoroughly informed).
The promise was not kept, at best it is on course.
I am really curious to see what the "new" communication on the bee promise looks like.
Don't ask what the bees can do for you, ask what you can do for the bees

SORRY, there are 2 sprays against pests, one from Migros and one from Maag, which have the active ingredient lambda-cyhalothrin.
