I am a student at the vocational baccalaureate school in Zurich. As a small project, I am investigating the advantages and disadvantages of Migros and Coop.
Can anyone give me specific advantages and disadvantages of Migros compared to Coop?
@Gingerbread: No, not 'completely alone'-:), not even as far as the described shopping behavior is concerned. In the most frequented M stores, there is this tasting stand with a plastic cover and equipped with toothpicks and waste garbage cans, where seasonal fruits are presented in slices or, as Istanbul writes so beautifully, "in slices". After nectarines and plums, these are currently grape berries. A few weeks ago, both flavors of the new Blévita sandwiches(http://www.migipedia.ch/de/node/...) or, in the Maktgass branch in Bern's city center, the Wasa Cream cheese & chocolate sandwiches were offered under the same plastic cover [see the link provided by Istanbul(http://www.migipedia.ch/de/node/...) ]. In the frequently visited smaller Coop branch, as suppenteller also writes, there are always bread cubes at such a tasting stand. On the subject of baskets, @suppenteller: thank you for the good suggestion, I will probably do the same in future. @Kathrin: Exactly :), in the Coop Ryfflihof branch last Friday/Saturday, for example, Lindt chocolates were on offer, especially in the Wankdorf Center, where it is not uncommon for something to be sizzled up for customers who enjoy tasting, recently, for example, various dishes with "RedLine" spice mixtures. When entering the same Wankdorf branch, the question "Do you have a cat?" was recently asked out loud, the positive answer to which would have resulted in the receipt of a cat food. But not a pizza - as Migros exquisitely offers to "rodents"(http://www.migipedia.ch/de/tierw...).
I appreciate the presentation of new products at Migros more than all the tasting offers. Although this varies from store to store and doesn't apply to all new products (bread, for example), a number of them are displayed on a kind of pillar for viewing.
I also think it is a great pity that Rain mentioned in the 5th paragraph that we are no longer offering our own products and are increasingly introducing branded products (most recently Duplo chocolates, for example), which are already widely available at Denner, Coop, kiosks, petrol stations, Selecta vending machines, etc.

@Kathrin and Istanbul: Rebecca is absolutely right. LAG means life-interval companion. Since we've been together for 15 years, but not married. I see it like this: I've been washing his dirty socks for 15 years, so his ass is mine :-)
@scali-soccer: Oh yes, the shopping trolleys and baskets are much cleaner in the Migros store.
this is incredibly embarrassing for me now, moz! I thought you were a he... sorry! *ashamed* for me it's probably the other way around, he's been washing my dirty socks for 7 years and in return my very best belongs to him ;-P

@ Kathrin No problem :-) I admit that moz is not a gender-specific pseudonym. But it suits me so well, doesn't it?
