I have noticed that a QR code has been appearing on the terminal at the Migros payment terminals, but also in other places such as pharmacies, for about 1-2 weeks now, but it disappears as soon as I insert my credit card.
I could imagine that this could correspond to the function with QR code at TWINT, at any rate I see no other reason why I need to have a QR code displayed BEFORE a card payment...
It is possible that payment with TWINT will be possible in the near future.
Does anyone from Migros know more?
The QR code is actually a Twint QR code. So if you see it at a terminal, you can pay with the Twint app.
It's also no slower than paying with the Beacon. I would even say that it's faster than with Bluetooth...

@Famsl Bluetooth was a deterrent for me in this payment situation: Imagine: a small amount and it doesn't react and behind it a queue... Saleswoman (Coop) runs through the supermarket to get reinforcements..., she can't accept my suggestion to pay in cash either because everything is stuck... and I'm ashamed to death because a colleague (an absolute technophobe) 3 people further back is doubled over with laughter...
What had happened? Bluetooth was on, but stupidly also the wifi (from Coop) as suggested when entering the store, therefore no data traffic (logical in this concrete bunker), then the recommendation of the 3rd specialist called in: wifi off !!!! -- and it worked.
The explanation can be found at TWINT - FAQ - under the search term "switch off wifi" ... The answer there:
Tell the checkout staff that you want to pay with TWINT. Check whether the Bluetooth function of your smartphone is activated. Hold your smartphone at a distance of 5-10 cm from the beacon, open the app and initiate the payment. It could be that aWLAN signal is causing interference, switchoff theWLAN signal on your smartphone and try again.
One more addendum: Even if payment were theoretically possible, it would be juggling your cell phone and Cumulus card at the same time ;-) .... The Cumulus card cannot yet be stored in TWINT under Offers/Cards... at least not with Postfinance-TWINT.
The "user manual" from@marcotizejust shows what a complicated misguided development Twint is.
For comparison, my payment process with ApplePay:
1. double-tap the side button on the AppleWatch.
2. hold the watch to the payment terminal. done!
No Bluetooth, no WLAN, no Internet, no PIN required. It doesn't matter whether Bluetooth etc. is on or off.
If you pay at an attended checkout, just say "Zahle met em Chärtli", no further explanations are necessary.
@eventus
But you don't need a watch or [something]Pay either. A normal credit card or Postcard will do!
@AlMiDeCoLi
But these cards are more impractical and insecure than ApplePay.
I have four cards stored in my watch that don't waste space in my wallet, can't be stolen or lost ... and with physical cards you risk amounts under CHF 40 being fraudulently debited without a PIN and above that you have to type in the PIN. I never need the PIN and it's still safer. It's also more anonymous. And what's more: I don't even have to take my wallet with me/get it out.
Hello everyone
TWINT and the Postfinance Card will be integrated into the Migros app as additional means of payment. A launch date is currently being worked out. Whether TWINT will also be offered directly at the payment terminal in the future is currently being examined by those responsible. Unfortunately, we can't tell you any more about this yet.
Best regards, Tamara

M-Infoline Is it okay to be curious ? --
Paying at the beacon or paying with a code ?
Can be used at the Subito checkout and at the attended checkout ?
Hello marcoti, we need to make some clarifications before we can give you any information. May we therefore ask you to contact us directly via the contact form? https://www.migros.ch/de/kontakt/kontakt-infoline/m-infoline-kontakt.html ^lc

@Millyyyy
Thanks for the invitation, but for me it's pure curiosity - so neither a request nor a demand. I can wait - especially when buying groceries - I will probably continue to use the Cumulus credit card and if possible via Subito.
Nevertheless, I would like to make a few comments as an ordinary but convinced and intensive Migros customer. I will not try to repeat what I have already said.
-- Online sales (leShop, M-Electronic, Do-it-Garden) : Here I think it's a real shame that it's "dead in the water", because Twint is ideal for debit cards from 11 financial institutions (only Postfinance is possible directly) and also prepaid... if you have a credit card on file, you don't have to "scatter" the 3-digit CVC number everywhere or take the more complicated SecureCode route... (you don't just buy online at Migros and because of the exclusivity to Switzerland, Migros as a Swiss online retailer is not affected) When buying online, it is a payment with a code.
-- In-store purchases: Anyone who doesn't have a "fast smartphone" knows that both TWINT and the M app don't load particularly quickly - I therefore limit myself to my own Poschti app and the M app in the Migros Wifi store, where I still have to activate the many coupons ... ;-)
There are many payment methods available in the store for "non-cash payers":
-debit cards,credit cards to insert with PIN
- do. with NFC - up to CHF 40 without PIN
- NFC for (Apple Pay, Samsung Pay with corresponding smartphones
- Mobile payment (MB debit, Cumulus Mastercard, other credit cards stored in the M app)
- Payment cards (gift cards and CashCards)
- do. stored in the M app....
- Not forgetting Cumulus vouchers (physical and stored in the M app)...
- ... and maybe I've even forgotten something else ;-)
Just my opinion: If Migros also starts to set up these beacons so that the Bluetooth fan community can also get their money's worth, then we will have a "variety" for the staff, but also for the customers ... Interjection: do we really have to offer everything the market has to offer?
Because otherwise there would also be PayPal, Bitcoins and much more (irony off)...
