I would also like to see bottled mineral water from Migros like it used to be.
Hello Ben56Ben, thank you very much for your message. I would be happy to share our thoughts with you. The topic of sustainability is close to our hearts. For this reason, a team of specialists works on the optimization and reduction of packaging on a daily basis. We test different types of materials. In our tests, we found that glass definitely has its advantages. It is made from sand and lime. This makes it easy to recycle. However, a lot of energy is required for production and recycling - especially for melting it down. This energy, in turn, requires the use of crude oil. We are also faced with the challenge that glass bottles are many times heavier than plastic bottles, for example. In addition to the higher material consumption, this also has ecological disadvantages during transportation, as more fuel is consumed. Due to the significantly lower material consumption, the environmental impact of plastic bottles is usually much lower than that of glass variants. This is the reason why we are not using them at the moment. I hope these lines are informative for you. Best regards, Tabea
