I think the garlic and onion powder is great for polishing up dips and gratins.
BUT: does this stuff have to come from China?
I would happily pay more if it came from Switzerland or at least Europe.

Istanbul has already mentioned garlic. It would be a nice step for Migros to distribute this garlic throughout Switzerland.

It is as I have already indicated above: The market in Switzerland and Europe cannot meet the demand. That's why we import onions from the USA and garlic from China. Production is checked regularly and the products are also subject to strict incoming inspections.
@ivan92Thesituation is similar withthis regional product that Istanbul suggested: the quantity available would not be large enough to cover demand throughout Switzerland.

It's logical that you can't just go to the market and buy a huge amount of dried garlic. But I simply can't believe that you can't find a single producer in Switzerland who would produce sufficient quantities for you. So you're currently looking for a producer in Switzerland?

Dear @Frederica, the producer in the video is perhaps the largest garlic grower in Switzerland, but certainly not the only one. Migros would simply have to negotiate a purchase agreement with the producers, but the profits on imported goods are still preventing them from buying more regional products in Switzerland.
