Dear all, today I bought a Jowa-Christstollen. Apparently it is being produced again!!! It's just stupid that I've already bought Christmas stollen from amazon.de: a Niederegger marzipan stollen (Lübeck) - very tasty - and a Reimann stollen (Dresden) - also highly recommended. Well then, I'm happy anyway: now there will be a big Christmas stollen test tomorrow. Dear Jowa, thank you very much! Your stollen can more than hold its own against those previously mentioned (it's also less than half the price)!
Yes, it's back, the JOWA stollen! It tastes great, I'm currently enjoying a slice with my Sunday coffee.

Hello, I would like to ask where the Jowa Christollen was available again? I couldn't find it in the Dreispitz. Mfg Esprit 1

Hello, I have discovered it in all the Migros stores in eastern Switzerland that I visit from time to time: SG and TG (from St. Margrethen to Amriswil). However, it doesn't exist on the Migros homepage in the product search, for example. I also fear that it will disappear again. Apparently it is not available in all cooperatives? Yours sincerely, P. Bendel.

Hello michaelb88, thank you for your question. We no longer carry the Jowa cleat in our national range - I'm sorry I don't have a positive answer for you. The relevant specialist department has been informed of your message. Kind regards, Luisa
Do all the cooperatives know that the Jowa gallery exists or are they wrong in thinking that only this new Hässlich is available?
I'm sorry to hear that. I only found it in one very large store (Migros Ostschweiz) near the border. The current stollen are simply not edible (but apparently many are), just a cheap German product. Years ago, when the Jowa stollen disappeared, I tested pretty much everything. I then came across two products that came very close to it: The Dresdner Stollen from Emil Reimann (a test winner), Dresden, and the Marzipan Stollen from Niederegger, Lübeck. I ordered them both from Amazon (I have a PO box in Austria because it's close to the border, so postage is free). The former can also be bought by the kilo and will keep until April. You could also buy it at Coop 2 years ago, but it was almost twice as expensive as a Jowa stollen. Yes, and I'm actually panicking again that the Jowa stollen will suddenly disappear again :(

Hello Bodenseeknusperli, this Jowa Stollen is a regional product. The cooperatives are free to offer it or not. Kind regards, Luisa

It's a shame that Migros Aare has decided to offer an inferior product from abroad - not very sustainable. However, I am amazed by this statement: "The sale of Christmas stollen has always been a niche business for JOWA as a Swiss producer, which has hardly been profitable." (2 years ago) @philippbendel: many thanks for the tips on sensible Christmas stollen. The trip to eastern Switzerland would be a bit far for Christmas stollen ;-) Which cooperatives sell this stollen in addition to eastern Switzerland?
