Dear Migros, the competition has been offering sea buckthorn juice with pulp for decades - 0% sugar added! The fact is that the high vitamin C content of sea buckthorn acts as a preservative in itself. There is no need to add invert sugar! I just keep the opened bottle in the fridge. It's never been a problem. Why else is ascorbic acid (Vit. C) often added in the food industry for shelf life?
Hello Nena, thank you for your message. The high vitamin C content does indeed contribute to the shelf life, but cannot prevent mold infestation. Vitamin C (ascorbic acid) is not a preservative, but an acidifier. To prevent mold from forming in the opened jar sooner or later, we add 51% sugar to the sea buckthorn pulp, which ensures a sufficient shelf life. Tests have shown that the contents would only keep for a few days without this added sugar. As we want a longer shelf life and no preservatives, we have opted for this recipe. As an alternative, however, we can recommend the Alnatura sea buckthorn/orange spread, which has a different recipe and contains less added sugar. Best regards, your M-Infoline team

Dear Migros, many people have already complained about the 51% sugar content. Is a change planned? I look forward to your feedback :)
Hello ErynPoppy Thank you for your interest in our product. 51% sugar content is the lowest possible sugar content required to preserve the sea buckthorn pulp. Due to the high acid content, the sugar is converted into "intrinsic sugar", which in turn is equivalent to fructose. The fruit content is 31 %. We hope this information has been helpful and wish you a pleasant evening. Your M-Infoline Team

There is nothing on the packaging:
Which country and region the fruit comes from and where the product is produced
Dear guest
Thank you for your comment.
We have been sourcing sea buckthorn berries from Mongolia for about five years. This berry is one of the highest quality fruits with a vitamin C content of around 30% more than sea buckthorn berries from Europe. Migros sea buckthorn pulp is produced in Switzerland.
We hope this answers your questions and wish you a pleasant evening.
Best wishes from the M-Infoline team

hello, we buy the sanddornmark for years.I used to buy great quantities in Migros,Saas Fee Wallis and took it with me home in Belgium. However during our last holiday there, I was told this product is out the assortiment of the smaller shops. Really a pitty!! where can I find it now? maybe also in Belgium?
thanks for answering.
Dear guest,
We still stock the Actilife Sanddornmark in our product range. However, you cannot purchase it in Belgium. Perhaps you have friends in Switzerland who could buy some and sent it to you? When you next visit Saas Fee, the nearest branch which stocks the item is Brig.
Best wishes

I have been using sea buckthorn mac for years. I use it as a tea additive.
You can no longer buy it in our Migros (3940 STEG VS)!
Where can I still get it?

The sea buckthorn pulp from Actilife tastes really good, but I find it questionable that there is so much sugar in a health product, 51g per 100 grams! Couldn't natural sweeteners from other fruits or sweeteners be used for the product? (like in Migros Premium Konfi, for example)
Dear guest
Thank you for your inquiry.
Sea buckthorn pulp has the lowest proportion of sugar needed to preserve the product, i.e. 50% sugar content. Due to the high acid content, the sugar is converted into "intrinsic sugar", which in turn is equivalent to fructose.
The fruit content is 31 %. The test subjects found the product with less sugar to be unpalatable.
We hope this information has been helpful and wish you a pleasant afternoon.
See you soon in your Migros! Your M-Infoline Team

it's normal that you subjects can't enjoy it without sugar. in our society we are literally bombarded with "sugary foods" and we are born into it as children.
I have found that it is not absolutely necessary to always put sugar in it, because sea buckthorn, if you like it anyway, will be empty in a month at the latest. with so much vitamin c, you don't want to have the can in the fridge forever...the vitamin melts ....-))))))
other products, such as those from weleda, you can store the product in the fridge for no longer than 1 month and it tastes just as good....
