10 questions

Hello, is the dough suitable for cheesecake? The picture with the fruit leads me to believe that the batter is rather sweet.

Hello Zürimigi, thank you for your inquiry. The organic cake batter is not sweetened and is therefore also suitable for savory cakes. Best regards, your M-Infoline team

Hello I always thought your organic cake batter was excellent - great consistency and super good flavor. Now I've tried it again after a long break and was very disappointed - the consistency and aroma are completely different and it hasn't been as good for my taste for a long time. I won't be buying it again. My question: have you changed the recipe? Or is my memory deceiving me? Best regards

Hello Hikawi, thank you very much for your feedback. We can confirm that there has been no change to the recipe for this product. We would need the lot number and best-before date for more precise clarification. Best regards, your M-Infoline team

I've read your answers about sustainable palm oil. Why not take into account the entire life cycle of this product to determine the real sustainability of your raw materials? Local living conditions, pollution, reduction in biodiversity, the CO2 cost of transport ... CH butter should be much better in comparison, don't you think?

Hi GRU72, thank you very much for your message about palm oil in organic cake batter. Unfortunately, it's not that easy to switch to an organic batter without palm oil. The reason is that the use of butter is rather high. An alternative would be to use hydrogenated rapeseed oil. However, organic guidelines prohibit the hydrogenation of fats. All other ready-made doughs no longer have palm in them, why the organic dough? We all pay more for organic because we value sustainable ingredients, now there is no more palm in the regular products. When will the changeover from organic dough take place?

Hello trainlord, thank you for your inquiry. The hardening of fats is not permitted according to organic guidelines and the use of Swiss butter would be cost-prohibitive. However, we use certified RSPO palm oil for our organic dough. Best regards, your M-Infoline team

How about letting the customers decide for themselves, e.g. through a survey with the new price and different quality? In addition, RSPO certification, which is also on the margarine (without Alnatura) RSPO is also worth nothing.

Hello trainlord, we have forwarded your input to the specialist department. They will review it in the next product meeting. Best regards, your M-Infoline team

According to the ingredients list, the dough contains "organic palm oil". However, the RSPO certifications are quite controversial and even if the palm oil was actually produced sustainably, it still has to be shipped halfway around the world (Ecuador, Colombia, etc.). Would a more sustainable alternative to palm oil really drive up the price of the product so much?

Hello leungjan, thank you for your message. The margarine in the organic cake batter contains RSPO-certified organic palm fat. It is produced according to the specifications of the Migros Bio Label. JOWA's quality credo defines that, where technologically possible, only unhydrogenated vegetable fats are used. We do not use palm oil as an individual component, but only as an ingredient in margarines. It is there for technological reasons because, unlike other vegetable oils, it is solid at room temperature. Of course, we always check alternatives. Best regards, your M-Infoline team

Hello, I wanted to try this dough for a cake but I am baking for a friend who has a nut allergy. Can I assume that the dough does not contain any traces of nuts? Thank you very much for your help!!!

Hello Frapp, this product is not labeled "May contain nuts". This means that any traces of nuts are below the legal limit of 1g/kg. However, we cannot guarantee that the product is nut-free. Autumn greetings, your M-Infoline team

Why does this dough contain ethanol? I have never noticed this in any list of ingredients in a ready-made dough. Does it have a technological benefit? And how is it produced so that it is organic?

M-Infoline answered Flurina82's question: "We use ethanol (alcohol) in very small quantities (below the legal value of 0.5%) to preserve or extend the shelf life of the dough. The use of ethanol is a harmless form of preservation and may also be used for organic products. When the dough is baked, the substance evaporates and your flatbread or cake is free from ethanol."

Hello himmbeeriii, thank you for your question. Ethanol improves the shelf life of a dough and evaporates completely during baking. The amount used is even below the legal value of 0.5 % and can also be used for organic products without any problems. @Frederica: Thank you for your help :) Best regards, your M-Infoline team

Dear Migros, I have a milk protein intolerance. Is there no butter or milk in this cake mix?
If there is no mention of milk/butter in the ingredients or allergy information, can I be sure that I can eat it?
Did you know that there are more people allergic to milk protein than lactose?
It would be cool if there were more products for people like me.... I can't eat lactose-free products either, so I think your sheep and goat products are great. More of them please :)

Hello sandapanda
Thank you very much for your praise. We are happy to take note of your suggestion.
As can be seen from the list of ingredients, the organic cake batter does not contain any dairy ingredients. However, we cannot rule out the possibility that it may contain milk, see the note under product information or directly on the packaging: May contain milk and eggs.
The following is important to know: Milk and products made from it must always be included in the list of ingredients, even if they are added in small quantities. However, traces of milk can also find their way into a product unintentionally. This is sometimes unavoidable. Traces must be indicated if the legally stipulated maximum value (1g/kg) is or could be exceeded (e.g. "May contain milk"). Traces below the legally stipulated maximum value may, but do not (!) have to be indicated voluntarily in the same way.
We hope you find this information useful and wish you a relaxing weekend.
Best regards from the M-Infoline team

Is vegetable oil palm oil? It's really annoying... On the other hand, I wasn't at all convinced by the taste of this pastry. In fact, I bought it by default: I've been looking for weeks for butter puff pastry, which is a real treat. Once again, a product I love disappears from the range?

Hi
The vegetable oil used to make organic cake batter consists of approx. 60% organic palm oil and 40% organic sunflower oil. As far as possible, Migros now only uses non-hydrogenated vegetable oils (the trans-fatty acids formed during the hydrogenation of oils are hazardous to health). This is why many of our products now contain non-hydrogenated palm oil. It's true that palm oil is composed of a high proportion of saturated fatty acids, but this disadvantage is taken into account in the decision to avoid the hydrogenation of oils and the resulting formation of trans-fatty acids. What's more, when we buy our palm oil, we ensure that it is sustainably produced.

The M-Premium butter puff pastry has been withdrawn from our range. However, we will shortly be reintroducing a butter puff pastry.
Best regards Your M-Infoline team

Very fine! But why does this dough contain alcohol (ethanol)?

Hello Flurina82

We use ethanol (alcohol) in very small quantities (below the legal value of 0.5%) to preserve the dough. The use of ethanol is a harmless method of preservation and may also be used for organic products.

The substance evaporates when the dough is baked and your flatbread or cake is free from ethanol.
