Why are organic carrots only available in plastic packaging but not in open sale or at least in environmentally friendly packaging?
Hi Saba2, thank you for the question. Migros is constantly replacing plastic where it makes sense to do so. By law, we are obliged to clearly separate organic products from conventionally produced items at all times. Simply labeling the display is not enough. This is why Migros deliberately sells most of its organic range in packaged form. However, we already sell many organic products unpackaged. We are also constantly looking at which products it makes sense to use a sticker instead of film packaging. However, the focus is still on protecting the product. 45% of food waste is generated in households. For example, an unpackaged cucumber can no longer be sold after a few days - but 1.5 grams of packaging will keep it fresh for two weeks. If we were to package conventionally produced products instead of organic items, this would require much more material. The conventional range in the fruit and vegetable department is still larger due to the purchasing decisions of our customers. Best regards, your M-Infoline team

Organic carrots from Italy? Why?
Hello Zimt_Vanille_Love, thank you for your inquiry. We regret that you are not satisfied with the origin of the organic carrots. Migros has the principle of always sourcing its products from the closest possible geographical region. This means that if a product from Switzerland is in season and the local cultivation provides sufficient goods of good quality, then the domestic goods have priority. It is not for nothing that Migros is an important partner of Swiss agriculture. Unfortunately, there is currently no Swiss produce (organic) available, so we offer carrots from Italy. Best regards, your M-Infoline team

Does anyone have any tips on how best to store the carrots? I bought these carrots last Friday and wanted to make porridge on Monday. When I opened the pack, everything was so black, rotten and no longer usable. What a pity
Hi sweetycris, the best way to store carrots is to take them out of the plastic bag and place them in the vegetable drawer wrapped in a damp cloth. Best regards, your M-Infoline team
Carrots are a root vegetable that we're lucky enough to be able to supply all year round in Switzerland. So that's not the problem...

The picture on the packaging says "Swiss carrots" but LeShop states the origin as Italy/Spain/Switzerland. Where do these carrots come from?
Hoi ivan92 Thank you for your inquiry. Generally speaking, the Swiss carrot season lasts from the beginning of June to the end of April. In May, they usually come from Italy, Spain and France. This also applies to organic carrots. In May, carrots have to be imported as all Swiss stocks are sold out. As soon as Swiss produce is available again (usually at the beginning of June), we switch back to Swiss carrots. We hope this helps you and wish you a good day. Best wishes from the M-Infoline team
