Is alcohol or animal ingredients used in the production process? Is it alcohol-free and vegetarian? Is there any cross-contamination with alcohol or animal ingredients?

Hello Acalyanu, we use pure Swiss sugar to make the powdered sugar. This sugar is kosher and halal-certified. In addition, we do not use any alcohol to clean or disinfect the machines and equipment. Cross-contamination with alcoholic or animal products is ruled out. The powdered sugar is vegan. Best regards, your M-Infoline team

Hello, does your powdered sugar contain gluten? Thank you.

Hello @Michaela78, If a product contains ingredients containing gluten, this must be openly declared, indicating the cereals containing gluten (wheat, spelt, rye, barley, etc.). Consequently: Pay attention to the list of ingredients! Traces due to a possible transfer in the production process must be indicated at the end of the list of ingredients with an optional mention ("May contain gluten" or "May contain traces of gluten"). By definition, spices are gluten-free. Spice blends may contain gluten, but this must be declared (e.g. spice blend [with wheat starch]). Best regards Frederica

Thank you for your question Michela78. No, powdered sugar does not contain gluten. When a product contains gluten, we must indicate this on the packaging. Best regards, your M-Infoline team

i also have trouble with the lumps in the powdered sugar. i think it is due to the packaging, as moisture penetrates inside. can't you switch to plastic packaging? the same problem exists with your cane sugar in paper packaging.

Dear ingrid.naegele
Can you please give us the M-Data and the lot number here as well?
Thank you very much in advance.
Best regards from your M-Infoline team

Hoi Ingrid Thank you very much for your information. We were able to check the production based on your data. The powdered sugar is pure, without artificial additives (e.g. anti-caking agents). Pure powdered sugar is packed in paper bags to ensure a certain amount of moisture exchange. In a sealed plastic bag, no exchange is possible and therefore anti-caking agents would have to be added. Depending on the application, pure powdered sugar is easy to use, whereas powdered sugar with anti-caking agents may have certain limitations. For whipping egg whites, for example, only pure powdered sugar produces a good result. Alternatively, powdered sugar is available in a shaker with small amounts of anti-caking agent added. This does not tend to form lumps. We hope this helps you and will be happy to answer any further questions you may have. Kind regards

I agree with the comments below. Unfortunately, the powdered sugar is "pure" but not ideal for many things when baking as it clumps. Perhaps you could make a second pack? So the one still in the range for those who want pure powdered sugar, plus another one similar to the one from the Coop, with additives but not lumpy? Especially now that it's trendy to bake themed cakes and cupcakes, the other one would be great.

I would also welcome it if you could buy the powdered sugar in a plastic bag (like in Coop).
Then you wouldn't have to sift it before using it.

I always go back to Coop for this product because it's too much of a hassle for me.

Every year when I go shopping for baking cookies, I get annoyed when the powdered sugar clumps together. I then soften it up and buy everything I need for the baking time at the Coop. Monika

Dear guest
We regret that you are not satisfied with our powdered sugar. We need the following information so that we can investigate your complaint and clarify the situation:
What is the M-date (sell by, use by)?
What is the batch number (number starting with letters or mixed)?
Many thanks in advance and best regards, your M-Infoline team

The compact pack is available at a reasonable price, so I always have one in stock. But, as other users also criticize: Unfortunately, the sugar tends to clump together. On the other hand, it is not as dusty as the Coop. But perhaps you should still consider a plastic wrapper!

Hello andreachrista
Thank you for your feedback on the powdered sugar.
Lumps can form in powdered sugar due to large fluctuations in temperature and humidity. It is not possible to pack pure powdered sugar in a plastic bag. Pure powdered sugar must be able to "breathe" as otherwise the risk of clumping is even higher.

Your M-Infoline Team

Hello M-Infoline team
Thank you for your feedback. I am comparing with the Coop product, which is and remains lump-free and comes in plastic packaging.
Kind regards
Andrea
