What is the background to the instruction "only use for cooking and baking"? Why is it not allowed to be eaten raw?
Why should you eat raw flour? 🤦♀️
@Magnoliapower Have you ever baked cookies with children? They eat the dough raw, even if you tell them not to
Yes, but that's not raw flour by the spoonful. No problem at all in these quantities.
I really wonder how we grew up without the internet 🤦♀️😂
@Magnoliapower how do you know that it is safe in small quantities if you don't know what causes the label "for cooking and baking only"?
Because we all did it and didn't "die" from it....
But google says:
Why not eat flour raw?
Flour can contain microorganisms known as Shigatoxin-producing Eschericha coli, or STEC for short, which can lead to gastrointestinal complaints and other complications in humans. Therefore: Hands off the raw dough!
Nevertheless, not much happens...
Hello KnoblauchBock, the warning "Use: Only for baking and cooking" was introduced on the recommendation of the umbrella organization of Swiss millers. The background to this is that there have been tragic incidents in France and the USA in which the consumption of unheated dough has led to health problems. This information is gradually being added to the packaging of flour products - a practice that other manufacturers are also adopting. Kind regards, your M-Infoline team

Hello Migros team,
Could you please tell me the W value in the classic sense (dough strength / gluten strength, e.g. W250, W300 etc.)?
Many thanks in advance for your help!
Hello fkzmaz, thank you for your question. The W value is a measurement parameter in flour analysis that is rarely used in Switzerland. We analyze our flours using other parameters. We are therefore unable to provide you with any more precise information. Best regards, your M-Infoline team

What type of flour does this product contain? Why is it not declared anywhere?
Hello mailawb, flour types are mainly declared on flour packaging in Germany and France. The flour type indicates how many minerals in mg per 100 g of flour are contained in the dry matter and depends on the degree of grinding. Most customers in Switzerland are not familiar with this information on flour types and it is therefore not printed on the packaging.
In Switzerland, the term is only used within the industry, but the term "Mehlyp", "Type farine" or "Farino tipo" appears repeatedly on German, French and Italian packaging and causes confusion. M-Budget household flour corresponds to a normal white flour type 400. Kind regards, your M-Infoline team

Hello, can flour contain traces of nuts or soy?
Hello gdaguet, with this flour, you shouldn't expect any traces of nuts or soya. Otherwise, there would be a trace indication on the packaging. Best regards, your M-Infoline team

Hello, what is the W plant of this flour, thank you.
Hello PlaTyPuS, thank you for your inquiry. We are pleased that you are interested in the product. We were happy to make enquiries with the relevant specialist department. The clarifications took longer than expected. We apologize for the delay in responding. The test from any production series resulted in a W value of 65.2g/100g. The result fully meets our expectations and guarantees good baking quality. We hope this information is helpful to you. Best regards, your M-Infoline team

Hello Is MBudget household flour still made from 100% Swiss wheat? Why is the origin not declared on the packaging? Yours sincerely
Hello PIALpolitur20, thank you for your inquiry about M-Budget household flour. The product still contains 100% Swiss wheat. We declare this on the back with the words "Produit suisse". Best regards, your M-Infoline team

Dear M-Infoline Team Is the flour vegan or has it not been treated with the animal-based L-cysteine (E 920) flour treatment agent? Are the additives in the products generally also shown on the list of ingredients? LG
Hello Alnatura_Liebhaber, the household flour M-Budget does not contain L-cysteine (E920); this would otherwise be stated in the list of ingredients. Additives are subject to declaration. In this context, you may be interested to know that L-cysteine is no longer usually of animal origin, but is mainly produced using biotechnological processes in which bacteria produce large quantities of the desired cysteine from sugar and some mineral salts. Best regards, your M-Infoline team

You write below that this flour is 100% Swiss. Does this mean that the wheat used in M-Budget household flour was or is still grown exclusively (100%) in Switzerland and is not imported?
Hello ivan92, your assumption is correct. The wheat comes exclusively from Switzerland. It is still a 100% Swiss product. Best regards, your M-Infoline team

Is this flour made from conventionally grown wheat?
Hello ivan92 Thank you for your interest. Yes, the flour is made with conventionally grown wheat. If this were not the case, we would declare it on the packaging. We wish you a nice weekend. Kind regards from your M-Infoline team
