Veal is not one of my standard foods. Expensive in price, less flavorful than pork. But when one of these knuckles was in the "reduced" section, I grabbed it. But it confirmed my previous behavior, I couldn't tell much difference to a pork knuckle. Perhaps slightly more tender, but that's not worth the extra price to me. However, this piece is of course of the same excellent quality as all the other Migros products. A while ago, Kassensturz criticized the fact that some meat products are packaged in fumigated packaging. The product/taste suffers as a result. I believe that this is exactly the type of packaging we are dealing with here. I don't see myself as a philistine, I can certainly make comparisons (fresh counter, regional butcher's, vacuum-packed, etc.) - but I can't see anything detrimental, and certainly no rancidity!
