When revising our range, we are guided by customer demand. Unfortunately, we had to remove Baldo risotto rice from the range due to steadily declining sales figures. It should be investigated why the same customers, who apparently increasingly spurned Riso Baldo, buy or will buy Alnatura Risotto Reis Ribe in sufficient quantities.
Riso Baldo kilo price 2.30 - Alnatura rice kilo price 7 - There is no strong purchasing power, but a strong profit margin.
Totally agree with you, and what's more, there's no comparison in terms of taste.... we're already at almost half the price per kilo for the Acquerello...! I will now look elsewhere for a good alternative, too bad.

It is common practice in complaints management to suggest an alternative. But what I don't understand is that these alternatives are sometimes quite sought after. In this example, for example, why is the very ordinary but very good M-Classic risotto https://migipedia.migros.ch/en/104400700000 not suggested as an alternative. Alnatura is a niche product and certainly not the best.

I ask myself based on which evaluations and who decides on the assortment reworking? The misleading statement "declining sales figures" is complete nonsense!!!! The so-called MMM management is only interested in maximizing profits!!! Just calculate 1 kg of Baldo rice costs about CHF 3, 1 kg of alnatura rice costs CHF 7 - For your information we will buy less and less in Migros!

Dear Tabea That is absolute nonsense what you are saying. The fact is and remains that a product that is offered for 3.-/kg only has a minimal margin. Even if you pay 0.50.- in the supermarket, Migros does not earn enough per pack sold. However, rice is a staple food and should be available to everyone at an affordable price. The longer you cut back your range and throw out brands like SportX etc., the more customers you lose. Even Swissair was thought to be unable to fail, but history has shown that even such companies can go under. Migros has lost a lot of its character and you have lost me as a customer. Nowadays there are good alternatives that are cheaper, better quality and more readily available. The day will come when you will no longer be able to turn the tide and you will join the ranks of companies that made the wrong decisions at a certain point. With this in mind, all the best for the future.

And why leave an overpriced rice in the range if the product is doing soooo badly? 🤦♀️ These answers are simply flimsy and leave big question marks.
