Hello Miigros Why was the gluten-free cornflakes bar taken out of the range because barley malt extract was added for many people who have children with coeliac disease or gluten sensitivity, but you have an alternative but not many are affected.

According to the German Society for Coeliac Disease, around 1% of the population is affected by coeliac disease (varying degrees of severity). So that's quite a lot of people who HAVE to eat a gluten-free diet, otherwise they will have major health problems. Of course you can serve your child a potato for lunch, which is also gluten-free, but your child might also want something that other children eat. Coeliac disease is a disease and I think that as so many people are affected by it, a major retailer like Migros should offer a good selection of gluten-free foods. These people have no choice in their diet. It MUST be gluten-free. And to missy: how do you know who has coeliac disease and who doesn't?
Where do you read that I supposedly know that? As far as I know, I haven't mentioned any figures anywhere 🙂
That wasn't derogatory, it's your interpretation of my words. I expressed myself neutrally and objectively, but on the one hand you write about gluten intolerance and then you move on to coeliac disease. These are both different things and must not be mixed up because this is how rejection arises in the general population and people drift away from sensitization and the fringe group remains a fringe group.
They are related to each other, like wheat allergy. even gluten sensitivity/wheat sensitivity has to be taken seriously and the numbers are rising there too. people with irritable bowel syndrome or Haschimoto's can also benefit from a gluten-free diet. And yes, it was derogatory. and yes, Migros has some gluten-free products on offer, unlike coop, it's still a little smaller but better than nothing.
And by the way, it may be just a bar for you, but for others it's another product that they or their children might have loved. And you shouldn't take a gluten sensitivity so lightly. https://www.imd-berlin.de/fachinformationen/diagnostikinformationen/autoantikoerper-gegen-neuronale-transglutaminase-6-bei-verdacht-neurologischer-manifestation-der-glutenunvertraeglichkeit In the end, it's all about the product.

No, it wasn't derogatory. Yes, it's about the product, agreed. That concludes this discussion 😉
For someone who has to eat gluten-free, it's no use if there are lots of bars and this person can then only take one type. then better coop where there are only 3 better than 100 non-gluten-free bars.
My question again: WOOOO are the 3 bars? We are talking about Farmer... I'm not talking about other bars here... At Coop, the imitation is called Country (Farmer and Blevita) and I don't see a single gluten-free bar here...

The 3 are in the coop read the post. at least there are 3 and not one like in migros. 2 are from the coop itself and own brand And one is a branded product 1 is from semsam the other 1 from quiona the other from chashew chia. in total there are 3 different products migros had 2 and had removed one and now it is only possible for someone who has problems with gluten to choose one product.

There is no gluten-free bar that is a farmer's imitation... there is a link to it...
As I suffer from coeliac disease and type 1 diabetes, I feel obliged to add my two cents here. I myself never really liked the Farmer bar with the cornflakes, but the one with the grapes and chocolate was more my cup of tea. However, as far as I know, it has long since been removed from the range. However, I have no grudge against Migro as I think there are 100 times better alternatives than these Farmer bars. The drugstore, for example, has many other snacks that are more suitable for a snack. As I am also affected by diabetes, I have always had vegetables or other low-sugar alternatives. Which is why I can't confirm the statement that many people with coeliac disease are sour for my part, especially since if you have an immune eating disorder you have always been limited to only one or two products, one more or less isn't too bad. Have a nice day everyone.
