Why do cumulus vouchers have to be activated? Sometimes it is forgotten, which is annoying. It would be nice if they were always activated automatically from the start.

Because it makes no sense, for example, if you buy a croissant that is immediately deducted and would rather use it for a bulk purchase.

It makes perfect sense if the many coupons were activated automatically and ask the counter question: What do you get more of : the infinite number of coupons for all kinds of things or perhaps a double after a large purchase ? So you could activate everything automatically and the deliberate few purchases over CHF 100 activate or deactivate the double manually. In short: you can get a handle on these 2 compartments more quickly and if something goes wrong, the loss is CHF 1 max. CHF 2.... You also overestimate this 2-fold a little, because it is only 1% of the purchase amount.... or do you go shopping in Migros because the bulk purchase only costs 100.85 instead of 101.85? If it is activated automatically, you are more likely to look where I should make a bulk purchase, because there it is about 10, 20 or even 40% and this would be sales-promoting. In any case, I always activate them immediately and thus know where high discounts are given...

... if the mishap you mentioned happens to you perhaps once a year, then you get 1 Rp for a croissant and 1 franc for a large purchase of CHF 100 - a loss of 99 centimes over a year... Mishaps would be many times higher with the other discount campaigns... !

You could also ask: Why are all these paper vouchers made, which you have to cut out and hand in at the checkout to redeem them, when it would be easier if these discount promotions were made available to everyone automatically, just like the normal weekly promotions? Well, it's actually quite simple: Whether digital or physical vouchers - they are offered, but every voucher that is not redeemed makes Migros happy. Because the normal price is paid, even though it could be done differently. If you want to use vouchers, you have to take care of it. This was already the case with discount vouchers and also applies to collector's passes, stamp cards, Mondo points...

These discount promotions are only effective with the Migros app - so new information can be sent almost every hour and cell phone users are engaged with Migros: customer loyalty = staying on the ball with the customer at all times. Paper receipts are rather annoying for the cashier, slow down the payment process when customers dig out slips of paper and show them one after the other: one half expired - the other half not product-related... I have also experienced this!

I can't say whether the Migros discount promotions are sent out every hour, as I practically don't get any vouchers anymore because I only shop at Migros very rarely. I've also switched off the push notifications in the Migros app, so I'm not automatically "woken up" when something new arrives anyway. However, I assume that Migros - like Coop - will at best issue new vouchers once or twice a week. It's also good that you don't need a smartphone to manage your vouchers with either provider; you can also manage them in your online account on your computer. Incidentally, it should also be noted that the original question refers to "Cumulus vouchers" in general. It is therefore not clearly stated whether the question is about discount coupons, advantage coupons or the blue payment vouchers.

I don't know of any chain where the vouchers are automatically activated... You also have to activate them at Rossmann
