Newly created: Welcome to the new Migipedia forum

Neu gebaut: willkommen im neuen Migipedia-Forum

After a three-month beta phase, the time has come to welcome you exclusively to the new Migipedia forum. I already introduced some of the new features at the launch of the beta phase. I would like to mention the most important points again:

  • The new forum’s design is more in keeping with the rest of Migipedia.

  • Categories have been given greater importance. You will find the last three discussions in the respective categories on the forum homepage and by clicking on them you can access all discussions in a specific category.

  • All language versions combined. Machine translations means we no longer have to differentiate between German, French, Italian and English. There is now just one forum and each user writes in one of the four languages indicated above – whichever they feel most comfortable using. The system then does all the translation work. Contributions in other languages are marked accordingly.

  • Pinning posts. If a topic is being hotly and extensively discussed or if we want to draw your attention to a specific topic, new posts can be pinned to the homepage.

  • Your feedback has been incorporated
The beta phase proved extremely valuable. Thank you all for your suggestions on changes and improvements. And Migipedia wouldn’t be Migipedia without actually incorporating some points into future development. For example, various people requested access to all discussions. We have now met this requirement. At the bottom of the forum homepage is a category called ‘Latest posts’. This enables you to go to a page containing all posts by clicking on ‘Show all’. And by scrolling down even further, you can also display all posts in the black boxes by clicking on ‘All’. If you don’t like the new, categorized homepage, you can simply save the view with all the posts and make it your own Migipedia forum homepage. We are also currently developing a new, improved search function for the forum. This point was also raised several times.

Getting used to the new forum may take a little time, but I’m sure you will soon get there. We remain open to suggestions on changes and improvements. Simply post them here in the forum or use the feedback form above.

I hope you enjoy using the new Migipedia forum and engaging in lots of interesting discussions.

    Best regards
    Philipp

A little tip for all those who, like me, don't see any added value in the classification by "categories" and perhaps even find it annoying: I simply set up a shortcut in the browser's favorites bar that leads directly to 'All posts': https://migipedia.migros.ch/de/forum/alle. Fortunately, I can forget about the rest.

That was the first thing I did yesterday 😅 I used the old forum / design until the last moment and have now only switched over with the forced changeover and adjusting my bookmark to "all posts" was the first official act.

I still have two points that could be improved (from my point of view):

    - In the old forum, you could see who had liked a post by placing the mouse pointer on the Like button. Unfortunately, this is no longer the case

    - In the old forum you could place the mouse pointer on the "time of publication" of a post under the user name and the exact date including time was displayed. Unfortunately, this is no longer the case

The list is not exhaustive. Perhaps I will notice something else at a later date.

I have just sent you a DM about the possible function for "hiding the posts of restricted users" 👍🏻🙏🏼

    Thank you. :)

That's what triggered me the most... I also had the old design until the end.

So I can't orentize so well with the new arrangement. I found the old version much easier. The old "discuss" is now divided into 4 folders... what a shame

I now suddenly get everything in French and have to translate it ????

Is your page set to DE or FR at the bottom right?

To get the page in German, you simply have to enter https://migipedia.migros.ch/de/forum as the address (French https://migipedia.migros.ch/fr/forum ).
By the way: In this oh so modern forum it is obviously not even possible to insert clickable links 🙄

    Short update:

    - Thanks for making up for the fact that you can now look up the exact time of a post 👍🏻

    - The point with the likes (who gave them) is still open. Perhaps this can be reintroduced.

    - Nice that you can now post working links! That gives the forum an even more modern touch 😉😅

    - If you could now mention / link users, then we would have arrived in the present 🙌🏼

Ah, three more points that come to mind:

    - If, like me, you use the complete post overview (and not the normal start page with the posts divided by topic, then it often takes a (long) while for a post to appear there. Is there a way to speed this up?

    - I created a post 10 minutes ago (06:34, 05.03.2025)in the thread " https://migipedia.migros.ch/de/forum/produkte/wo-finde-ich-meine-eigenen-bewertungen " but it is not displayed in the community overview. It only appears when I sort by "recent". However, the default is "latest activity". Does "latest activity" refer to newly created threads? It would be great if all the latest activities were really displayed...

    - Under the "My posts" category, only those that you have opened yourself are still available. In the old forum, however, the discussions in which you participated were also available. Could this be reintroduced?
