By law, it is not the market that determines Migros' behavior, but the cooperative members and the cooperative's articles of association.
However, these cooperative members have criminally failed to exert any influence in the past. Migros also lacks a mechanism to ensure that the "founding spirit", adapted to our times, is taken into account. There should be some kind of ethics committee that constantly analyzes and, if necessary, influences Migros' policy ... this should not simply be determined by the market or a "fashion".
Farm sales and the like are ecological and environmental nonsense: the journey to the farm negates any advantage.
You can only create jobs if there is real work ... creating artificial work so that you can then create jobs is, as sorry as I am about this, a very stupid path that will drive us all into poverty in the long run.
An unemployed person who does nothing is, for all of us, a much more valuable person than a state employee who harasses us with unnecessary things because he has to show that he is "working".
We have to stop "stirring" our garbage into the landscape (like the environmental polluters who take part in the Tour de France, for example) so that others have to clean up the mess. It also doesn't make sense for hordes of workers to mow lawns and remove naturally growing plants so that it looks "clean". These people waste a lot of money and also destroy the natural habitat of many plants, insects and animals.
Here in this country, there is less and less natural habitat that is created by itself without any effort and that costs nothing ... it even maintains itself. Instead, we are building more and more ugly and useless stuff, which we then have to maintain with "follow-up costs", for which we have no money in the long term.
