The deodorant stick has not been available for weeks. The saleswomen told me each time that they had been ordered but not delivered. What's wrong with that? I find it a good deodorant without aluminum salts.

Hi MikeGLow, we're sorry to disappoint you. We rarely communicate such article discontinuations for the following reasons: We suspect that our customers would not be sufficiently aware of announcements about article discontinuations, as they are exposed to an excessive amount of advertising messages these days. In addition, comprehensive communication about items that we are removing from the range would involve disproportionately high costs. Migros will continue to adapt the range on an ongoing basis and add new innovative or improved products. This means that we will have to remove items with less demand from our range. I hope you understand, best regards Heidi
Quote: "Migros will continue to adapt its range on an ongoing basis and add new innovative or improved products. This means that we will have to remove items with less demand from our range." So, yes. Well-tried, popular products are disappearing. People buy, buy, don't take a break otherwise it might be gone... It's funny that things that were well bought are also disappearing. What a shame.
Hello felixmigros. Unfortunately, this cannot be avoided if an item is no longer so popular. As an alternative, we can recommend the Tabac Original Deo Stick (https://produkte.migros.ch/tabac-original-deo-stick). This has a similar fragrance and is identical to the Alvaros in terms of handling and shape, but the price is higher. You may also like our I am Men Deo Roll-on Dry Formula (https://produkte.migros.ch/i-am-men-deo-roll-on-dry-formula). It's very reasonably priced and currently on promotion. I hope you find a new favorite deodorant with us. Best regards, Tamara
Dear Tamara from Migipedia That was well meant with the two alternative offers. I bought both and tried them out. I was only able to use the Tabac deodorant stick once and had to go straight into the shower. The thing stinks. Unfortunately, I can't put it any other way. The scent made me sick. And the I am Men Deo Roll-on Formula dry is unfortunately not aluminum-free! So the search for a real alternative starts again. best regards felixmigros
I stumbled across this thread by chance while googling, as I have been missing the Dry Formula deodorant stick from I am men for some time and could no longer find it in various Migros Basel Region stores. In its usual place there is now another product (a roll-on) that is absolutely out of the question for me. Have you also just quietly removed it from the range? If so, I'm beginning to wonder what kind of customer-unfriendly policy Migros has been pursuing recently... Thank you for any information and best regards
Hi Androja Sorry you can no longer buy the I am Dry Formula deodorant stick. We have actually removed this item from our range. Adjusting our product range is always a balancing act for us. We assure you that we will examine such a decision carefully before implementing it. I recommend the following alternatives: - Rexona Deo Stick Cobalt, article number 5110.427 - Rexona Men Stick Stay, article number 5110.603 - Rexona Deo Creme Max Protection, article number 5110.501 - Nivea Deo Dry Impact Stick, article number 5110.653 - pH Balance Deo Creme, article number 5268.006 - Borotalco Deo Stick Original, article number 5110.953 Best regards Heidi

Thanks for the quick and honest answer, I'll have a look around Müller in Germany for an alternative, they have a huge and affordable selection. It would have been nice if customers who regularly bought this product had been informed by Migros about such a project some time in advance so that they could stock up. You can see which customers these are via your Big Brother Cumulus card or app... It's a shame, this own product was one of the few reasons to visit you regularly. There are currently three or four other products that drive me to Migros - if you were to take them out of the range too, I could save myself the detour to visit Migros in future...;-))) Thank you & best regards
Hello bonsai24. We can see from the sales figures when a product is being bought less and less. At some point, we reach the point where we decide to stop offering such products. This makes room for new items that our customers want to see on our shelves. Best regards, Tamara
Yes, you can see that in the Excel spreadsheet in the office. It would be better to go to the sales front to find out what customers want. I too have been using this deodorant stick for probably 30 years > for me it's by far the best! I would say that a new production run would soon be sold out according to information in the Migros magazine. The customers who want Tabac, Axa, Rexona and all that stuff don't go to Migros (any more).
For years, it has been a "customer requirement" to be informed in advance of products being removed from the range so that they can prepare themselves and stock up. It's better than standing in front of an empty shelf. And nagging the staff in the store for weeks on end.↵↵But Migros doesn't want that. "Too much information is already available elsewhere" yes, information about new arrivals or promotions. But not in this section.↵↵"Too much effort" no, you know what's in the range, just update the relevant product online and collect it in a category. Two three clicks.↵↵"Mauschelmauschel reasons, competition then has an advantage" I never understood why the competition would have an advantage, you lose the customers anyway. But this way, you could try out alternatives at times instead of being snubbed.↵↵🤷♀️🤷♀️🤷♀️
There is only one thing to do. There are enough recipes on the internet to make your own deodorant easily. Better than all that chemical stuff and even cheaper ;-) I've been making all my own cosmetics ever since I found out what's thrown in.

Having searched in vain for the Alvaros Deo Stick in several Migros stores, I came across these forum entries and would like to join the writers. Many years ago I had a similar product and when it was discontinued, I could only find something like it abroad, ... until I came across this deodorant at Migros. It is very disappointing that it is no longer available. I have tried many things (spray, dry deodorant, roll-on, ...), but none were as effective as the Alvaros and unfortunately the taste of the alternative Tabac deodorant doesn't suit me. That's why I'm going to look for an alternative deodorant stick like the Alvaros in other stores and otherwise go shopping abroad again. Very unfortunate. There must be 30-50 different and yet very similar deodorants on the shelves, but none of them are like this one.

Hello ZwirbelPit Thank you for contacting us with your request to find the Alvaros deodorant stick in our stores again. We are constantly revising our range to ensure that we have a popular and up-to-date offering. Sometimes this means that a product has to make way for a new product, which makes it all the more regrettable that the alternative, the Tabac Original Deo Stick (item number 5116.125), is not to your liking. This has a similar fragrance and is identical to the Alvaros in terms of handling and shape. Perhaps you would prefer the I am Men Deo Roll-on Dry Formula (article number 5110.074)? We would of course be delighted if we could continue to welcome you to our shop. best regards Angela

Too bad :( Liked this stick very much, had a very good scent.

Dear Heidi, thank you for your answer - from a business/marketing point of view, of course, it's completely understandable. I don't expect you to put up posters with "Aaaaacht, Alvaros deodorant stick will soon be discontinued!" or print it on the paper carrier bags. In my opinion, just a small sign on the shelf next to the product would not be an unreasonable expense, but would be transparent and fair. Well, in the end it's a first-world problem, we'll all survive, but it's still a shame that such a great product has simply disappeared and that consumers haven't had the opportunity to buy a few more cans... LG, MikeGLow
