What is happening at Migros at the moment is frightening and incomprehensible.
For some time now, products that were in high demand and always did well (according to employees) have simply been removed from the range. Migros itself, however, simply feeds us with explanations that are incomprehensible. Above all, it's always the same standard answers. You get the same answer to every question or complaint.
Highly sought-after products disappear and are replaced by others that are more expensive, or the larger version disappears and only the small format is left, which is also more expensive.
Now it's getting even worse with the sweets. It's cheeky to simply force more expensive branded products on customers, which 1. are no better and 2. nobody wants them. In addition, many of the company's own products are/were much better than the branded products. Also in other areas apart from sweets.
But the main thing is that Migros can make more money. Migros doesn't care how customers feel and that they feel cheated. Because so far there has never been a credible explanation that is not standard.
Why isn't Migros merging with Coop right now? Then there is only one big supermarket that is expensive and not two. There's hardly any difference any more.
Migros has not fulfilled its philosophy for a long time and that is a shame.
Conclusion: Merger with Coop and customers merge with Lidl, Aldi, etc.............

I think it's a shame too. Migros could, for example, simply
offer the branded product as well as its own. Then
you can buy what you prefer. And not have to
to the competitor Coop for the branded product.
Migros should not transform itself too much anyway.
Customers like Migros the way it is and find it
better than Coop Lidl or Aldi. Otherwise Migros would not be
No. 1 in Switzerland. But I think if Migros wants to go abroad
then it has to transform itself. Migros is too Swiss as it is.

I've also been wondering for some time why classic M products are simply disappearing from the shelves. They are usually replaced by rather questionable innovations or branded products that are available everywhere anyway.
Roast pork sausages, yellow peas (but 3 types of lentils), American patisserie in huge quantities, sweet cider of course - now more expensive Ramseier, ... It's clear that space has to be made for the branded products.
Does the fact that the "Migros surprise packages", which were probably filled exclusively with Migros own-brand products, were sold out so surprisingly quickly give those responsible pause for thought?
Private labels are only disappearing because Migros can maximize its profits with branded products! The best example for me was the former Mivella, which tasted exactly like the original (Rivella) but was a lot cheaper. I can well imagine that the origin was identical, but that's just a guess. Migros simply earns more with Rivella. I'm sure it's exactly the same with other own(?) brands. Whether it's Migros or Coop hardly matters any more. Aldi and Lidl are good!

Perhaps MIgros now sells much more Rivella than Mivella? And Mivella was not the same as Rivella...
Where do branded products disappear? Except for the discontinuation of products that would have to make room for Snickers

Speak for yourself. I like own brands just as much as "big" brands, depending on whether one is better or worse and I buy a mixture.
I have noticed that you have to look closely at the prices of branded products. We have a private store opposite Migros with fruit, vegetables and branded goods. I bought Hakle toilet paper at Migros and noticed that it was more than CHF 2.00 cheaper.

This is called profit optimization at the expense of customers. It's better to sell a few overpriced branded items, then stop in-house production and lay off staff. This is profit maximization according to the Anglo-Saxon model!
