For me, the term "vegan plait" is a contradiction in terms. The term "Zopf" stands for butter, eggs and milk and when I ask for such an article I explicitly expect these three components. Why not create a new name for such a vegan product... ?
plait The ageric noun mhd. zopf "hair braid; braided pastry; rearmost end, tip", ahd. zopf "curl", Dutch top "tip, summit, top", English top "tip, summit, top; upper end", Swedish topp "summit, top, tip" probably originally meant "peak", then "summit, top; pinned-up hair, tuft of hair (especially on the crown)". Only in the High Eng. Only in the High German language area has the term "braided hair" developed from this.

@wef17 It's called vegan braid and your problem should be solved.

@taso... yes, especially when I ask for a plait at the bread stall and then they pack me one of those vegan plait substitutes because the others have already been sold! :-)

Are there staffed bread stands in Migros?

Of course, you can also buy bread, small baked goods, pieces of cake, etc. at the self-service stand and I really appreciate this offer, and not even because of the bread itself, which is always well wrapped in the self-service. Unfortunately, I have also seen people squeezing the bread with their hands or even sniffing it - incomprehensible and gruesome for me... In contrast to customers, Migros staff behave in an exemplary manner between packing products and collecting money by not touching the products sold with bare fingers.... Unlike fruit and vegetables, these products cannot be washed at home or have a peel that is not eaten. So it's all about hygiene and there are individuals who are more robust and others who are more sensitive .... ;-)
