24 days ago I wrote Update 1 for the new Migipedia forum and promised further functionalities. With this update, I'm giving you an overview of the Migipedia innovations of the last few weeks:My contributions: With the launch of the new Migipedia forum on October 1, 2019, there was a lot of discussion about the "confusion" of topics. The criticism was that people could no longer find their own topics and discussions. For this reason, we have introduced the "My posts" filter in the forum as a first measure. Anyone who has already opened a thread or taken part in a discussion can click to display only their posts. The order is chronological. This means that the post with the most recent action is shown first. The action - i.e. reply - can also come from another user.Performance improvements: Once again, we have made the Migipedia website lighter so that pages load faster. Short loading times of websites are becoming more important. On the one hand, because more and more users are visiting websites with a smartphone and, on the other, because Google ranks websites with short loading times higher. This means that pages with short loading times tend to appear higher up in Google searches. This is particularly important for Migipedia because we invest almost no money in promoting the website.Notification emails: We have also made minor adjustments and improvements to the notification emails. In the next update in around four to six weeks' time, I will be looking at improved spam protection and options for individual subscription to posts, replies, etc., among other things. The topics of "jumping to where I was last in the forum" and "recognizing what I have already read and what I haven't" will also be covered in the next update.
