I have been buying Selina cat food for many years. The range has always been reduced and is now no longer available. No one in the store could tell me exactly whether it is no longer available or whether it has just been repackaged.

Hello Angela Thank you for your reply. It's the store in Biberist/SO. It's not nice when the shelf compartment remains empty for weeks on end :-( Best regards
Hello Newzealand, thank you for your clarification. I was happy to look for further information for you and found out the following: Unfortunately, the demand for Selina cat food was low, so we have decided to no longer offer the products. For this reason, you will find the shelves in Biberist empty. The fact that the line was not very popular was also disappointing for us, as we had hoped for more from the sales. I would be happy to recommend the food from Exelcat or M-Budget: - https://produkte.migros.ch/sortiment/supermarkt/tierwelt/katze?q=Exelcat - https://produkte.migros.ch/sortiment/supermarkt/tierwelt/katze?q=M-Budget I hope your four-legged friends like the products! Best regards, Tabea
A great pity and completely incomprehensible from my point of view. Above all, exelcat is NOT a substitute. Especially not for the bowls/paté. Just the branded gruel on the shelves. Dutti is turning in his grave :-/

Hello Schlaunzi, thank you very much for your message. What a shame that Exelcat is not an alternative for your pets. I have gladly informed our specialist department of your feedback so that we can make any necessary adjustments. Kind regards, Tabea

I agree with Schlaunzi, cats are delicate little animals and you can't just change their habits overnight... I think it's downright cheeky of Migros to simply throw a whole line out of the range without any indication. No message in the MMagazine, no sign, no informed employees. What's more, within Migros only Selina offered pure sauce sticks (i.e. no meat pouches, just sauce), which are or were great for administering medication, for example. And the way the shelves look now, all this is being removed without replacement. Customer orientation looks different.

Hello Sony2, thank you very much for your message. I can well understand your reasoning. As far as the flow of information in the sales outlets is concerned, I agree with you: all employees should indeed be informed. We conduct numerous training sessions to ensure this is the case. I am sorry that we did not succeed in doing this for you. As far as the information about our communication channels is concerned, which you also mentioned, we do not do this for two reasons: 1. we suspect that announcements about product discontinuations would not be sufficiently noticed, as we are all exposed to an excessive number of advertising messages these days; 2. in addition, comprehensive communication about products that we are removing from the range would involve disproportionately high costs. I have also gladly forwarded your feedback to our divisional managers so that we can make any necessary changes. I wish I had more positive news for you. Kind regards, Tabea

Cats are not as fussy as we humans think. With a bit of training you can get them used to anything, it just takes a bit of patience and time. That's not just the case with cat food, but with most products. They simply disappear from the shelf and are either replaced (branded product) or not. I have rarely seen a prior announcement; the sales staff often don't know either...
"Patience and time" when the product is suddenly gone. You can get used to it very well. You can, for example, mix half and half, but it's gone overnight. Someone here has a request that they would like to be informed about, and Migros once again brushes off the "customer need". What a pity.
I hardly believe that Migros would give up a line that is successful.

It would be a shame if Migros were to give up this line, but we as customers just don't know whether it is/was really that successful; if Migros realizes that customer demand has decreased, then it is usually replaced (by branded products) or removed from the range...
Yes, I feel the same way! My cat is very fussy and also has a sensitive stomach. Selina's chicken dinner was great. She always loves it. Now it's going to be difficult for me to find a replacement for my fussy lady. It's a shame that these products are being discarded.
