As a little math freak, I've been keeping statistics for 2 years, but not to sound out "chances" - I don't want it to be understood that way either - and by the way: I always scanned correctly during the checks. During the follow-up checks at home, I scanned about 2* one small item too many (= paid too much), but so far it doesn't matter, because it's just a matter of pausing briefly in front of the checkout and checking through again... with the positive effect that this has a positive effect on handling (deleting a put-back item) I do this subsequent deletion very often, by the way, with promotional items or when the discount only counts from 2 items. These deletions had no effect on me.
-- I had 17 checks in 23 months to the day, i.e. 0.73 per month with approx. 15-20 purchases, i.e. every 25 purchases were checked
-- I consistently use the 2-fold, so I had at least one every month, sometimes even two, i.e. 23 to max. 35 of the purchases were over 100CHF, with the checks it was exactly 2, i.e. to take the middle: approx. every 15th purchase was checked here
-- But I also had checks on very small amounts, i.e. even if only 2-5 items - the 3 lowest amounts were: 10.65, 12.60 and 15.05
As a beginner, you've probably had 2 checks in a row, and if things go wrong, with a bad scan... but if you're honest, that won't shake you.
My tip: check again quickly before the pay station, don't let children manipulate the scanner while seated (only harms you, because "+" goes quickly - the "-" has to be confirmed)

I felt the same way! I'm checked every time I do a self-scan. What's the advantage? Shopping takes 5 times longer! As I know that I will be checked every time, it would be stupid not to scan products, as I know that I will always be checked... Now it's over! I will never use self-scanning at Migros again! Thank you Migros.

If you are checked every time you make a purchase during self-scanning, you should give it some thought. Maybe a bit excessive? I only use self-scanning in emergencies.

You're right! Apparently the cameras in Migros sound the alarm when they film me... the cameras signal: a shoplifter is entering the store...! Apparently I have a criminal visage... :-) As I now only pay at the checkout, Migros should position police officers at the exit - so that they can check me - I could have pocketed something - to be able to take me away in handcuffs... :-)

That's exactly how I feel about self-scanning at Migros. Yesterday I was even followed by two employees so that they could check me. You feel like a criminal. That was probably the last time I self-scanned. Never again. Big disappointment.

That's exactly how I feel about self-scanning at Migros. Yesterday I was even followed by two employees so that they could check me. You feel like a criminal. That was probably the last time I self-scanned. Never again. Big disappointment.
