Great that you are contacting us directly with your concerns. With Subito self-scanning, the samples are triggered by a random algorithm. This is deliberately not based on demographic characteristics. The fact that you were checked twice in a row is pure coincidence (or - if you like - bad luck). There is a very low probability that you will be checked again on your next visit (and if this is the case, it would be a small mathematical sensation :))Best regards, Tabi

Well, the system could also be programmed in such a way that a newcomer is not checked twice in succession. That simply doesn't make a good impression for a newcomer

Migros' 'protection' against (deliberate) false scanning lies precisely in the fact that, as a customer, you can't predict a random check. And just as you can draw 4 aces in a game of Jass, it can also happen that you are checked twice in a row. It's just very unlikely.
By the way, I have to correct Tabi on one point: If the samples really are completely random, it's not unlikely that you'll be checked again the next time. Just as it's not less likely to roll another 6 after you've already rolled two 6s. But admittedly, Bayes' theorem is counterintuitive ;)

I have a small addition regarding the use of Subito checkouts:
Every customer who registers for Subito Selfscanning also accepts the corresponding general terms and conditions and thus also accepts random sampling. If you don't agree to this, you can have your Cumulus card blocked for Subito via the Cumulus Infoline and pay for your items at a conventional checkout.

Every time I go shopping across the store and, for example, scan an expensive piece of meat or dried morel, I am always asked to have the purchase checked!
So the transaction data is recorded and analyzed and an illogical purchase is registered.

As a little math freak, I've been keeping statistics for 2 years, but not to sound out "chances" - I don't want it to be understood that way either - and by the way: I always scanned correctly during the checks. During the follow-up checks at home, I scanned about 2* one small item too many (= paid too much), but so far it doesn't matter, because it's just a matter of pausing briefly in front of the checkout and checking through again... with the positive effect that this has a positive effect on handling (deleting a put-back item) I do this subsequent deletion very often, by the way, with promotional items or when the discount only counts from 2 items. These deletions had no effect on me.
-- I had 17 checks in 23 months to the day, i.e. 0.73 per month with approx. 15-20 purchases, i.e. every 25 purchases were checked
-- I consistently use the 2-fold, so I had at least one every month, sometimes even two, i.e. 23 to max. 35 of the purchases were over 100CHF, with the checks it was exactly 2, i.e. to take the middle: approx. every 15th purchase was checked here
-- But I also had checks on very small amounts, i.e. even if only 2-5 items - the 3 lowest amounts were: 10.65, 12.60 and 15.05
As a beginner, you've probably had 2 checks in a row, and if things go wrong, with a bad scan... but if you're honest, that won't shake you.
My tip: check again quickly before the pay station, don't let children manipulate the scanner while seated (only harms you, because "+" goes quickly - the "-" has to be confirmed)

I recently had a confrontation with a man in his 70s or 80s who had packed the expensive nectarines and then pressed the code for the cheap promotional nectarines. And not out of senility, but out of pure intent. Because when I asked him about it, he felt caught out and went on the attack. When I threatened to call a member of staff to clarify the situation, his wife, who had overheard everything, grabbed him by the arm and hurried him out of the store.

So far, I have always brought my frozen purchases home safely, despite the fact that almost every third time I have frozen food with me, I am allowed to do a random check. **bleep**t happens ? just don't take it personally. The sampling algorithm doesn't know you.

Yes, I had my last sample last Tuesday, certainly a year ago since the last one.
