I think it would be cool if there was a function to write personal messages to other community members. Sometimes you just want to get something off your chest that is not intended for everyone.
What do you think?

@Kathrin,
I wouldn't have any friends in my pile building method either, but luckily Migipedia is not FB. But the handling works!

@Maripac,
many thanks for the flowers! :-)

haven't slept half the night to find a feasible solution that could be accomplished with a relatively small man(woman)power. :-7
Since our coordinates are stored, you could use them for automation.
Here's what it could look like!
- A "Contact" field is added to the user profile.
- Click on "Contact", then two fields, "User" and "E-mail" and a "Send" button are displayed, which are loaded with the data of the logged-in user and cannot be changed. (To make a correction, you would have to adjust your own profile).
- By clicking on "Send", an e-mail with the sender "Migipedia" is created and sent to the user displayed in the profile. The content of the e-mail would be a text box yet to be defined and the coordinates of the person making the request.
After that, you can only wait and see whether the addressee replies or not!
Best wishes from the rainy Jura bernois.
Istanbul
Hello Istanbul,
1. the "flowers" are meant very seriously (!); your commitment is really great. However, even as a professional (who is still able to find various solutions where others see ZERO solutions * astonishing*) - should by no means have taken you half the night:(.
I have also thought about it myself, but not about the technical realization (unfortunately I lack any specialist knowledge for this), but rather about the delicate point, in my opinion, that the actually good idea can be interpreted ambivalently, e.g.
a) to the effect that a few people want to "isolate" themselves, outsource discussions and form a small ego platform - which would run counter to the social media idea in a rather unattractive way
b) as an IMPOSSIBLE opportunity to make personal contacts (stupidly formulated 'between Migros fans')...
the matter remains, as it seems to me, delicate in the meantime. with such a function there is also a probability that Migipedia would lose much of its (multi-layered) appeal...HOWEVER, further opinions and suggestions, pros and cons are needed here.
also glgg, THANK YOU Istanbul- and hopefully the sun is shining through in the Jura bernois in the meantime...
wow, great, thanks for your thoughts! well, the negative aspects, that's probably the case... although i didn't quite catch b from you, maripac. what do you mean?
istanbul: in zurich on thursday? ;-)
@Kathrin: well, actually in the direction in which I (perhaps wrongly??) understood your original message - to write personal messages regarding something specific to only 1-2 members....
my above formulation of "to establish personal contacts between..." is, in the light of day, somewhat unfortunate and can be interpreted in directions that I now
had/have in my sights....
For my part, I should have/would have asked "moz" how the 'degenerating' was meant in concrete terms...
Or you - SORRY the stupid (but serious) question - how you meant "getting rid of something that is not intended for everyone"? Maybe I didn't quite get some things right :(...
greetings
tomorrow :-)
so, what i meant goes something like this: (maybe i have totally strange ideas and views... let's see ;-))
maybe there are comments that you feel a bit ashamed of? maybe because you want to say something to someone about meat and you're actually vegi (ok, then you could register as a guest and comment like that... but i personally don't find what guests say sooo relevant), or maybe you consistently buy organic (but for what reasons is a mystery to me...) and then want to reply to someone who commented on a "normal" product, like "i felt the same way - or not at all...". maybe a man would also like to say something about a light product...?
i can also imagine that 2 members would like to share experiences they have had in their "regiomigros". müsterli? ;-) ok, saturday 5 to 5 is not ideal for posting (i don't really do that either), but i just had to have another loaf of bread. so off i went on my bike, sprinted into the store, grabbed the bread and continued towards the checkout. do you know what i had to listen to? "hey, go ahead and take them out!" sorry, such a no-go! that's just not on! sure, i understand that it's annoying when you want to finish work, but that's just it. customer is (sometimes) king. how often have i been annoyed when people still wanted to buy something from us at the market stall at 11.20, even though the market lasts until 11 o'clock and we then pack up - and yet: friendly smiles and sometimes even unpacking the one or other harasse. that's service?!?!
making contacts: yes, i don't think we need another dating platform either ;-)
on the other hand, it would be cool if you knew which gender you're dealing with. it's clear with me ;-) with arwen and you maripac too? ;-) (of course, it could also be that marco is pretending to be julia - item ;-P) with moz and istanbul i would rather guess male members? in any case, you could partly see if certain stereotypes are confirmed or not? :o)
oh dear, well, i'll make myself scarce, i still have a huge mountain - no, 2 - of work to do ;-)
have a nice day,
kathrin
Morning Kathrin,
THANK YOU for your detailed answer
- which harmonizes perfectly with my own ideas and views; at the moment I actually see NOTHING "totally weird" about it. I thought the same thing (see your examples!) and therefore found your idea very welcome. When I was looking for examples yesterday, I almost gave you an example regarding a) veggies or b) organic (or "organic dictate"...) c) LÉGER etc., but then - for the reasons you mentioned (-:(! -) - I didn't think so. (-:(!) - exercised restraint...
In my opinion, the "Sat 5 to 5" thing is also COMPLETELY NOT possible - I wouldn't go there (to THAT branch) at all...
You/"you" have a market stall!!!??? That's great!!! I would LOVE to ask a series of (hopefully not annoying) questions about this - but once again refrain from asking S.O. or the reasons you mentioned :(...
Hats off to the "service", by the way, because THAT is much more complex than it was for said person on Sat 5 to 5 (...)
"Another dating platform", especially à la FB, in my view REALLY NOT. The wording (as is so often the case, it was/is simply completely inappropriate.
YesYES, the good old gender topic, ALWAYS interesting:)....
BUT now I urgently have to go back and look at my own 'mountains' :(...
good luck to you too
"maripac"
why do perfectionists always have to work so long? ;o)
ok, thanks, lucky you share my opinion.
no, it's not me, i've just been working at a vegetable farmer's market every sa for 3 years. sure, you can ask! :-) the thread is already quite long - i don't think that many people read through it?! ;-)
gender: did you study something like that? :-)
so, I have to do it again, hou :-)
Hu Kathrin, we may also share the perfectionism-:(...
But also besides that: YES I totally do!
Wow, that's just as great (hopefully for you too), that's certainly a wonderful offer; bio-:)?
hm, no, not directly (meanwhile you can choose it as a course of study...), but I've come across the topic again and again (I do it all the time...), even a lecture and work on it......DAS (like in my opinion also a - for me embarrassing - Q&A session regarding Märt) would definitely be a good idea for you again...
I am (also) still (and have to take a break again); GLG

Hello Kathrin and everyone else
Wow! It's really great how much thought you put into this topic. You have already collected some ideas on how this news function could be implemented. It's also great that you've included not only the positive but also some negative aspects in your considerations.
I have already forwarded your ideas and considerations. Our Migipedia developers and technicians will think about whether and how such a function could be implemented. However, I cannot guarantee whether this function will actually be used and whether it is in the spirit of the exchange on Migipedia.
Have a good start to the week!
Best regards
Tanja, Migipedia team
Hello Tanja,
THANK YOU VERY MUCH for the forwarding
You are right, the point "whether the function is in the sense of the exchange on Migipedia" still seems worth discussing. On the other hand, the question also arises in relation to 'exchanges' that extend so far thematically from//via Migipedia that it is doubtful whether the discussion is still interesting/worth reading or informative for the majority of users...
As far as the technical realization/ possibilities in this regard are concerned, I unfortunately lack any imagination :(... This as a reservation regarding the following points
It would EVTL.
a) a provisional trial or a clearly time-limited trial phase in which it could be determined whether and to what extent the function meets with approval at all and how its implementation affects communication in Migipedia
b) set up the function as a kind of "special area" within the "forum" - in my opinion, something like this would be perfectly acceptable there, as it could be clearly defined, somehow as "@XY (((starting from topic Z)))" [[here an UNCOMPROMISING name would have to be found, NOT like the own "misfortune" see above]] If interested, other users could POSSIBLY then ask and join the discussion - or not, that needs to be considered in more detail *sigh*
c) to make an INQUIRY in advance about this specific function suggested by Kathrin (which actually also has positive potential FOR the exchange on Migipedia) - in order to collect ideas, opinions, realization and optimization possibilities for various points, pros and cons (as mentioned under a)?
everything is much easier written down than realized, that is conscious-:(
with a very warm greeting nonetheless
