There is a reason why they switched to PET bottles back then. Glass is made from sand and lime and is easy to recycle. However, a lot of energy is needed to produce and recycle glass - especially for melting it down. In addition, glass bottles are many times heavier than plastic bottles. In addition to the higher material consumption, this also has ecological disadvantages during transportation, as fuel consumption is higher than for lightweight plastic bottles.

1. no living creature in this world dies of lime and quartz...
2. whether the truck with PETodrives with empty glass is less important than the
truck driver himself (more or less gas) is therefore ridiculous.
3. fairy tales of the melting process Glass is melted on average after 50 uses, compared to PET once (no fairy tales, please).
Spread, if desired, I have scientific studies and not "baloney"...
4. what is your idea of what it will cost to dispose of all the PET waste that is already lying around (including in Swiss waters) ??????
Conclusion: environmental protection is not available at ZERO COST, but investments are
The more sustainable way, instead of CO2 taxes, which only serve to fill the state coffers, their advantage in the market, their advertising would be much more efficient....

I think the most important thing is still missing:
Returnable glass bottles (with deposit)
NOT glass disposable bottles (without deposit)
Or am I wrong?
I am in favor of reusable glass deposit bottles.
These are also becoming more and more common in Germany, for example! And are the first to be empty on the shelf. Do you know some people who can confirm this?
I'm not in favor of that either!
The advantages of PET over glass outweigh the disadvantages. What's more, nobody has died from it yet...
