Dear Migros, please make the Migros app available for customers with Windows Phones (Nokia Lumia...). The spread of Windows Phones is increasing rapidly. Best regards, a very happy Windows Phone user who hasn't regretted switching from iPhone for a second, except for the missing Migros app.
Among the apps developed by Migros is a running app. With the top dogs Fitbit/Jawbone/Runtastic/Apple etc., one wonders why this app was chosen over the development of a Migros app for Windows. The app only has between 1000-5000 downloads (of which probably only a fraction actually use the app) and a whole 13 ratings!
The hurdles are being lowered by Microsoft with the Bridges and the spread of Windows 10 is already huge. I really wonder who is responsible for these decisions and why this person decides this way.

Hello
I think you're a hairdryer, luminatitsch. You throw around terms with a lot of hot air, but you can't substantiate or explain your own claims. The fact is, you don't need a WP app.
I see from your messages that you are able to get applications for Android and/or iOS to run on a WP (10) and therefore do not need a WP app.
I find this approach exciting and am of course very interested in how you actually did this.
The addresses you sent me last Friday (quote: ... That's why I tried it out this afternoon and got both Migros apps running on a Windoof Phone 10. https:// play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=ch.migros.app&hl=de https://itunes. apple.com/de/app/migros-informieren-einkaufen/id412845300?mt=8 ...) show where you can download the app. But I don't think I can simply install them 1/1 on the WP 10; it certainly needs more ... and as a simple WP10 user, I simply don't know what additional programs you may need to download or what settings you need to make.
Surely you can send me more information so that I can try it out (with a field test, especially the payment function) - and if it works, the problem would be solved!
And not just the Migros app problem, but also all the other missing apps like Twint and Paymit etc. - I'm sure that other app providers would also be very interested in your method, because it would save them expensive development costs (including time-consuming tests)!
But I don't think I can simply install these 1/1 on the WP 10; I'm sure it needs more. That's normal with Micro$oft, it only works really well if you use software from other developers. Just remember the Norton Comander from the 1990s or the fact that XP, 7, 8 or 10 also run on a Pentium2 without pointless and memory-hungry styles. A Windoof OS is always a beta, which only becomes a good operating system after a few adjustments.
... what additional programs you may load or what settings still need to be made. I already provided the information with the words "virtual machine". This runs Android or iOS or both, grafted onto Windoof, so to speak, and the Android and iOS apps can be used on the WP. This is not magic. :-) There are many different programs and, above all, versions of virtual machines. Sometimes, in order to have a larger selection, it would be advantageous to repair the original installed Windoof first. :-)
You can certainly send me more information so that I can try it out. I'll leave that to luminatitsch, who likes to pretend to be an expert, or Sonja, who is always picking on Migros because they supposedly can't manage something as "simple" as a WP app. Let them show what they're made of and finally show some performance themselves.
and if it works, the problem would be solved! There is no problem, because it works.
I'm sure that other app providers will also be very interested in your method ... Wow, you're getting carried away if you think I'm a hacker or developer. :-) I just like tinkering with the existing software and hardware. There are millions of little tinkerers like me, it's not something the IT world is waiting for. Quite often it's simply my skepticism or play instinct that leads me to seemingly incompatible and compatible solutions. You just have to use what works.
- Perhaps you remember the very old floppy disks. I once found a pile of them in the technology bin together with a 5.25 inch drive. With some tinkering with the bus systems, I was able to operate the drive with a modern PC. - Years ago, I happened to come across an old main memory disk from a server. The thing has a capacity of 1.8 GB, weighs almost 10 kg and is the size of a shoe box. But the disk still works perfectly as additional memory on my Win98 game box. :-) - Today's modern cars contain a lot of electronics and offer many things that can supposedly only be adjusted or changed at the authorized workshop, which costs money every time. As a thrifty Migi piglet, I got myself the appropriate interface and an older netbook. Among other things, I used it to deactivate the tire pressure sensors, eliminate some annoying beeping and activate some hidden functions that would have officially cost several thousand euros. You could do a lot more with it if you could properly evaluate the engine data during operation.
None of this is magic and has absolutely nothing to do with computer hacking; anyone who is a little familiar with the subject and reads a book can do it. App providers, programmers or software developers are certainly not waiting for such a tiny, cute little thing like me, especially as they can do other things with their specialist knowledge that I will probably never be able to do.
Greetings from the yellow Migi piglet who wrote this post in the garden during a break from trimming the hedges.
Many thanks for the detailed answer! Can you please be more specific about the virtual machine for WindowsPhone 10: which one did you use exactly? It worked for you, so I'd rather use your specific experience (it worked) and build on it - than set up another "test track" ... Greetings from the office to your sunny spot

Hello
My solution requires a cleanup first, because I always run a Win on low flame. All the useless ballast is removed first, as well as E.T. functions that like to "phone home". After that, Micro$oft is reasonably usable, but no longer looks so colorful. I don't really want to instruct you on how to do this, because things can get broken. Windoof is a diva that you have to get used to the cane. :-) However, there are many instructions on the web on how to get rid of Windoof. It is best to save each step externally, so (almost) nothing can go wrong.
But if you want a pure user solution, then try the various versions of VM-Ware, which is simple and largely secure. Maybe even a Lite version will work, but I would recommend downloading a previous version of the purchasable (free) version so that you can configure everything freely. With Micro$oft operating systems, the correct VM ware is usable. Remember, a higher version number does not necessarily mean more advanced software and old or older versions can be downloaded for free in many places or you can get them used for a pittance. Sometimes AndY also works, but it can be unreliable, which is why I wouldn't blindly recommend it. You have to try it out, just like the many other programs on the web.
The best alternative would be to think about exactly what you need the cell phone for and then run Win virtually for certain functions. The hardware on the cell phone cannot be changed, but everything else can. With enough memory, you can also install iOS or Ubuntu. Used and applied correctly, Android is a very powerful tool, but everyone can read about that for themselves.
Greetings from the yellow Migi piglet who dreams of pleasurable office sleep and young, short-skirted secretaries while working in the garden.
OK, thanks for the info. I assume that you are using a Windows Phone app - unfortunately I can't find an app from VMWare in the Windows Phone Store, not even one called "AndY". Am I doing / looking for something wrong, or do you mean a program for Windows (7 or 8 or 10)? Greetings from the (sleepless) office without "company" - just WORK

Hello
Ok, the hard way feeds the squirrel.
This is not about simply installing an app that then solves all problems by itself. To make it work on any cell phone, you first have to load a program that can run an additional operating system. Then you have to install and configure an OS that can communicate with the hardware and then you can get the app you want. This is all doable, provided you are confident in using computers and can read.
The different Win versions are the purest of sieves, which makes them vulnerable on the one hand, but also manageable on the other. There are only a few differences between Win 10 and 8.1, most of it is just cosmetics to make the customer believe that he is spending his hard-earned money on something new. See acquisition rules 1 and 239, Micro$oft is just a Ferengi company. :-) What runs on 8 usually also runs on 10, because 10 is actually version 8.2. Otherwise you have to deal with the error message first and customize the Win. Windows 8 was a mistake, much worse than ME, which is why Sinofsky was fired. The version had a bad reputation right from the start, which 8.1 was only partially able to save. Because they wanted to shake off the bad reputation, there is now Win 10.
For the impatient, there is also the Bridge: http://w ww.tabtech.de/windows/android-apps-auf-windows-phone-installieren-so-gehts-video The report is basically correct, but it also works on other devices that you can't buy directly from them. It is a typical Guugel result because Guugel(hopf) is commercially oriented and therefore not the best search engine. You get more reliable results with fewer fakes and spam with a real search engine. Guugel is just the most common variant, but it would go beyond the scope here if we were to discuss real search engines as well. :-) For example, search for "Tut", "Tutorial", "HowTo", "Andriod", "Win" etc. It doesn't hurt to be a bit imaginative with the search criteria, you could also search for "Android app for WinPhone" or something similar. With a bit of luck, you can find good results, which you should first read up on in order to find out the relevant important information and necessary processes. To do it right, you should always inform yourself first. After all, you'd rather go to the hairdresser if they employ people who know their trade.
But if you only want links for a quick solution and are not interested in the background, ok. It doesn't have to be my concern if it doesn't work in the end or the expensive WP gives up the ghost because something wasn't implemented correctly. Any VM-Ware product with an age rating of 3 years. :-) https:// www.microsoft.com/de-ch/store/apps/vmware-horizon/9wzdncrddg8h Any manual: http://w ww.wpxbox.com/this-tool-lets-you-run-android-apks-on-windows-10-mobile/ AndY, so that the apps at least work on the computer: http://w ww.andyroid.net/
You can also update the WP via PC, which may make things easier. However, the most important things are the backups and of course the assimilation of the previous literature. Anyone who buys a WinPhone has simply opted for an exotic device, just like people who work on Linux developer OS. In both cases, it doesn't happen in one fell swoop, but only if you deal extensively with the subject. I think 90% of WP users would be better served and happier with Android.
Thank you for the detailed answer. Applying/trying it out is something for a very long, rainy weekend. It is clear that you try something like this at "your own risk" - in any case, as you mention, it doesn't just happen in a jiffy. I even suspect that in the event of problems - especially if a money transaction goes wrong - you will hardly be able to count on the responsibility or even goodwill of the app provider (e.g. for payment apps) - even if it was not the installation method (the lawyers always find some great reasons for exclusion in the case of non-design-compliant use...).
Please note that many cell phone users are not completely free in their choice of operating system (WP, iOS, Android etc.): in some (large) companies, data synchronization (calendar, tasks etc.) is only permitted with - in some cases ONE SINGLE - operating system. In fact, the employer specifies the operating system and sometimes also provides the devices (and sometimes also expects the devices to be switched on day and night and the owner to respond to emails within 5 minutes). These are then iOS or WP devices etc. by decree. And because you don't want to lug two devices around with you (according to Murphy, you always forget the device at home on which you should be reached or it is precisely this device whose battery is empty ...), you have no choice but to put up with the operating system and make the best of it. This also includes asking app manufacturers if/when they will make an app for the operating system in question.
My conclusion from all this communication:
There are people (like you) who understand a lot about all the devices and operating systems and are able to install and try out criss-cross operating systems and apps on phones
There are people who have a different focus/skills and, if they absolutely need such installations, are better off seeking out experts - or leaving it alone ... and asking the manufacturers (such as Migros etc.) for apps that fit their operating system
and then there are the curious ones (like me), who don't know much about these things ... and at some point they get up the courage on a long, rainy weekend and give it a try. But with some apps, it will be and remain a curious "trial and error" for reasons of practicality or possibly also for legal reasons (at least for me)
In short: there is no simple solution for getting non-WP apps to run on a WP. What a pity! - But thanks for your information anyway.
So far you've only proven that you don't have much of a clue, poor piglet.
The Android bridge or Android subsystem you are targeting with the "Android apps on Windows 10 Mobile" links was removed from Windows Mobile a long time ago (fall). Your information on this topic is all wrong, as it is outdated.
You cannot install a VM on Windows Mobile (in any case, I am not aware of any method) and the app you have specified only runs on the desktop version of Windows 10. By the way, for your information: There is a difference between the mobile version and the desktop version of Windows 10! Even if you use a VM to run the Migros app on Windows 10 Mobile (which is not possible), you have nothing other than an app that runs on Android; it cannot access the camera, Bluetooth or other functions that a normal app could. This also means that this app would not run on Windows Mobile, but only on Android, which in turn runs in a VM.
I'm also curious about the method you use to make the iOS apps "run". I'm sure it's just as abstruse and wrong as the other two, but go ahead.
You also wrote in a previous post that you have already got the apps running on a "Windoof-Phone 10".
"That's why I tried it out this afternoon and got both Migros apps running on a Windoof Phone 10."
Why don't you share your progress with a little video to prove it;-) This shouldn't be an obstacle for a crack like you! (Please include the build number in the video; it should run on the current version 10586.218)
Best regards to the wild boar who likes to hide his insults behind piggish terms!
