I wanted to replenish my supply of M-Classic Choco Drink last week and lo and behold, the half-liter pack is no longer available. At first I thought there was a supply shortage. But no, they are no longer being supplied. Why are the products that are running out always thrown off the shelves?
Thanks for the answer and best regards

Luisa/M-Infoline only writes that the quarter and 1-liter packs are still available. The specific question as to why the half-liter pack has been removed from the range is not answered.
I also much preferred the half-liter pack. It had a screw cap and was therefore ideal for on the go. A quarter of a liter is too little for me, and a full liter is too much again. If the Choco-Drink was at least available in a 5-liter bottle, but that's not the case.
So another product that I liked to buy has disappeared from the range. I'm buying less and less there. Migros shouldn't be surprised at this, the way it tramples all over us customers with its constant product range withdrawals and brand changes.
@AlMiDeCoLi: that's exactly my opinion, it's nice that there are still the small ones and the liter, but both are stupid sizes and simply not practical for on the go. I've always been a Migros kid and I'll always be one, but you don't have to understand everything.
I've also been told that it might only be temporary because of these Choco Drink Bear and Vanilla Drink Seal. But that was just a guess.
Dear Migros Hopefully the half-liter Choco Drinks will be back soon. I think the so-called "alternative" with the 6 x 250ml is a bad joke. Greetings from an (already older) Migros child
Thank you for your question. The M-Classic Choco Drink in the 0.5 liter size has been removed from the range in favour of the two new products Vanilla Drink Seehund and Choco Drink Bär. We want to bring variety to the unchilled mixed milk drink range, both in terms of taste and packaging. Drinks with a content of 0.5dl are still available in the form of Bifidus Drinks, for example.
@Bodenseeknusperli I don't know why you always feel misunderstood just because someone adds a detail or additional information to your statement.
And no, the answer from this morning/Angela is not the same as Luisa's from a week ago. There is an important detail in it today that answers the question you asked then.
@ Angela: I know that there are other varieties, but unfortunately there is no alternative for me. I will certainly try the Vanilla Drink Seehund and Choco Drink Bär, but I'm afraid that it might be too sweet for me.
@AlMiDeCoLi andBodenseeknusperli: Please don't quarrel? I understood what you both meant and I appreciate your feedback.
I also think that Migros should be informed about certain things when something disappears from the shelves, which is no easy matter... It would also be cool if the sales staff knew, they weren't really up to date with me either.
Thank you all and have a nice afternoon Best regards Haase
@Bodenseeknusperli: we apologize that your question went unanswered. We understand your wish for more information. As far as possible, we communicate new products and tasks in Migros Magazine. Here on Migipedia, these products usually state that they are only available for a short time. In some cases, however, it is not possible to publicly announce product range decisions for technical market reasons. We ask for your understanding.
@AlMiDeCoLi: Thank you for your argument that the packaging with a screw cap is more practical for the 0.5 liter drink. That is a valuable tip for us. We have passed the input on to those responsible. Perhaps it will be possible to optimize the other sizes. We don't want to make any promises, but who knows. The constant dripping wears away the stone ;-)
@Haase: great that you're giving the new drink a chance. We'd be delighted if you let us know how you like it afterwards. That way we can incorporate your feedback into further development. Or, if necessary, in the decision to offer the old Choco Drink again. We don't want to get your hopes up too much, but the more reactions a topic triggers, the more likely it is that something will change. You probably know this from other areas of life.
By the way, our colleagues are informed about discontinuations and new products. After all, they have to stock the new items on the shelves. In the larger Migros stores, there are between 35,000 and 40,000 items. These are offered in various designs, sizes, colors, etc., resulting in around 325,000 article items. In the smaller stores, up to 10,000 items are on offer. I'm sure you'll understand that it's impossible to remember every single change with so many products.
Now I hope I haven't forgotten any questions. If I have missed something, just shout it out loud. Um, I mean write, of course ;-)
In the MM only the new products are always listed but when a product is taken out of the range the information is missing. I don't think the assortment change will be carried out overnight so that there would be enough time to communicate this in the MM.
We are indeed currently considering how we can communicate better with our customers when products disappear from the range. In general, there are two main reasons why we rarely communicate in such cases:
1. the number of advertising messages that people are exposed to today is so great that it would be difficult to communicate all the items that are being removed from the Migros range.
2. in addition, comprehensive communication about articles that are removed from the range would involve disproportionately high costs.
In general, it should be noted that Migros will continue to add innovative or improved products to its range in the future. Unfortunately, this also means that products that are less in demand will have to be removed from the range.
I noticed something: You write that the M-Classic Choco drink in the 5-dl pack has been removed from the range in favor of the two new vanilla and chocolate drinks. These two bottles are consistently offered in the cooler. However, the M-Classic Choco drink is not.
Why does a product that is not available in the chiller cabinet have to make way for one that is?
