Thanks for your message. It usually takes me about three attempts before I remember to buy bin liners ;-) In this respect, I can well understand your wish for a reminder at the checkout.
However, I fear that this will not be implemented, or not immediately. I see two main reasons for this:
a) The sales clerks already have to think of many things too, during checkout: Cumulus, handing in collective receipts, Famigros card if necessary, different payment options, completing the payment process and so on.
b) It would probably slow down the process at the checkout even more if everyone was asked this question - and customers then had to think briefly about whether they needed bags or not.
What do you think?

We don't have Züri bags but garbage tokens, but personally I would be quite annoyed by the questions. If I regularly forget something, I can write it down (stick a post-it note in my wallet). It's enough if I'm asked for a highway toll sticker every time I receive a letter at the post office.
In cities like Zurich in particular, many people from out of town shop who never need Züri bags. Even those who need Züri bags, or waste stamps or special bags in other municipalities, don't need them every time they shop.
Cumulus users, on the other hand, usually want the points every time ;)
You could put a small sticker where the prices for cell phone credit are listed. That would be easy, but is it necessary :P?

I've been wondering for some time why the fee bags are only available at the ticket office? Somehow I can't think of a logical reason. Because of the risk of theft? But then many items would have to be stored behind the checkout...
So why aren't the Zurich bags simply located where the normal garbage bags are? That really makes me wonder!

The bags (which I need) of the former "District La Neuveville (four villages)" are available on the shelf in the only Migros branch (M). If I need bags, the post office is kind enough to deliver them the next day with the Bern newspaper!

I have already received an answer to your question:
Firstly, as Istanbul has already correctly pointed out, it is a theft problem.
But there is a second reason why we do not place the chargeable waste bags on the shelves but at the checkouts: Each store offers different chargeable bags or stamps from a different municipality, the number is different for each store, so we cannot define a "place" in the standard range here, otherwise we would have to create a separate layout for each individual store.
I hope you understand this.

Right who thinks of it, this also applies to the "Khurerscarnuz" and even if the space is tight, please deposit the 17L bags also at the checkout not only at the Gäuggeli customer service, because after paying at the checkout and wrapping up the purchase, I forget again that the shopping list was/is still there.
