I bought 3 loaves of bread in Wil SG and they were all seriously underweight. This was the case some time ago, then it got better, and now the breads and rolls always weigh far too little. But we pay the full price............

Dear Matteo Enclosed is the information you requested (as I said, the weights refer only to the rolls I bought and vary depending on where/when I bought them; I have therefore given an average weight below; they were weighed at home and not in the store; I would also like to make it clear that these rolls were definitely the same weight as stated on the website/in the store, and in rare cases were even slightly heavier; the other small breads according to the website are not listed because I either did not buy/weigh them or because, although they were bought more often, they were always the same weight as stated on the website or slightly heavier):

Hello smartcoyote, thank you very much for your detailed feedback. I am sorry that the rolls did not meet the target weight. According to the legal requirements, the weight tolerance for these breads is +/-15 g. In the case of products with a high water content, various factors can cause breads to lose weight before they are sold. The drier the air, the faster the bread dries out and loses weight. We have informed our bread department about your feedback so that we can keep an eye on this issue. Kind regards, Noemi

The usual bread excuse................. It's just funny that at Aldi, Lidl, etc., the bread and rolls always weigh more, which is why Migros is introducing weight scales for bread, so we can pay fairly.

Dear Noemi, thank you very much for the information; it all makes sense to me and is also within the legal framework. As a customer, I just don't think it's great to get less for my money (prices are constantly being increased anyway), especially when I see that others (Coop, Lidl, Aldi) manage to ensure that their rolls always weigh the same as the website/info on the shelf or are sometimes even often/always heavier... Kind regards

Weight scales don't help much, there is a legal tolerance for deviations... And as long as the bread/rolls are within this range, there's nothing you can do about it...

Interesting. It never occurred to me before to check the bread on the scales - the days when you bought a pfünderli and it weighed 500g and the next size was a kilo are over anyway. BUT: A baker should know which breads lose a lot of moisture=weight during the baking process and be able to take this into account accordingly. I also learned something here: Don't buy bread rolls that are too light, because they are dried out. 😏
So you weigh the bread when I get home from shopping, just to check? Okee....
Okay, if you have no other hobbies and activities than weighing bread and other items, then your life must be very sad. I think there are bigger problems at the moment.

Apparently you have no other, bigger problems than criticizing other comments or posts. Just give it a rest.
