I miss dan offer of a whole trutenbust, like Aldi and Lidl offer. It is packaged to keep well and is very versatile. Either as a whole roast turkey, or pieces of it, it also tastes delicious cold if you prepare the whole thing at once.

The question goes to Migros again: please include a turkey breast in your range, like the ones Aldi and Lidl have been offering for a long time.

Hello indios
I have already forwarded your question to the people responsible for meat products. They will check whether there is demand for a whole turkey breast and whether it fits into the range.
Kind regards

Turkey meat almost always comes from abroad.
Turkey farming abroad is simply cruel to animals and a huge disaster. Why do you want to eat it?
I've seen that Migros has recently started stocking some Swiss turkey products from Optigal again. I think that's great.
Anyone who buys turkey or chicken from abroad is accepting animal cruelty. Animal welfare guidelines abroad are not worth much from a Swiss point of view.
Optigal chicken or turkey is just as versatile. Just a little more expensive - for the sake of the animals.
You also seem to care about what's in the things you eat. So why not meat?

Everyone can decide for themselves. If you don't like it, you don't have to buy anything.

of course, i didn't say anything else :)
i was just wondering what kind of people buy such things. i haven't figured it out yet, because unfortunately i never get a real answer. but answers like the one you just wrote.
can you simply ignore these facts about turkey farming when you eat it? without a guilty conscience?

I would also like to have real turkey breast in my range! I think that's a great idea! And to answer your question, magpie:
Of course I expect Swiss animals that are kept according to Swiss regulations. Just because I don't want to do without a certain type of animal doesn't mean that I support animal cruelty in any way. But think about how chickens from the chicken nuggets were kept... Especially those from Brazil...

hello just must,
I am very pleased to hear that you value animal welfare!
i just ate SWISS turkey from aargau today. without ugly pictures in my head. so it would be possible to buy turkey meat in switzerland, dear migros.
chicken nuggets from brazil? never!
of course i thought about where the stuff comes from years ago.
i would never eat brazilian chicken nuggets, neither at home nor in a restaurant. generally speaking, chicken meat from abroad is a cruel catastrophe.
you can also buy swiss chicken nuggets. or you can simply make them yourself.
do you eat chicken nuggets from brazil?

Hello magpie
Well, you can also eat turkey meat with confidence;).
And: of course I deliberately do NOT eat foreign chicken or meat in general. But unfortunately I've noticed that many places don't pay any attention to this - and when I'm invited, I can't really ask where the meat comes from. So it's quite possible that I've also eaten such poor animals - unfortunately.

hello just must,
I think it's great!
but yes, if you're invited, you can't look at it.
i wouldn't ask for reasons of decency.
a few weeks/months ago (no idea sorry) migros (luzern) changed its fast food products with poultry to swiss poulet, i was pleased to see it.
unfortunately, ignorance is everywhere when it comes to meat consumption. the person who opened this forum post didn't ask for swiss turkey breast either. it was all about turkey breast in migros, no matter where it comes from.
if everyone had a normal relationship to meat consumption, we wouldn't have to import foreign meat at all. on the one hand, swiss meat production would be sufficient, and on the other hand, people with little money could afford a piece of meat that is expensive, because they would save a lot of money with normal meat consumption (because they wouldn't have meat on their plate every day or every other day).

Hello magpie!
Yes, that's true about meat consumption. I don't understand why you need lamb from New Zealand, chicken from Brazil, beef from Ireland, pork from Italy or veal from Denmark anyway. Of course, if you can't do without a piece of ostrich or kangaroo from time to time, you have to import it, but even that should be kept to a minimum.
I keep thinking the same thing about fruit, vegetables, fish and even dairy products. I actually found out recently that our village store gets its yoghurts from Germany - it's not that far away, but it's still definitely unnecessary.
Whatever ;)
