I miss pickles without sugar. Is there something planned? It was an issue some time ago. Unfortunately, the budget no longer exists (I haven't received an answer yet).

Okay, fine. But honestly, how much sugar ends up in a cucumber like this? Does that really matter? You'd have to eat kilos of cucumbers to get that much sugar.
The taste of sweet pickles is disgusting
Hi indios, do you already know the ones from Alnatura? They have no added sugar: https://www.alnatura.ch/de/produkte/alnatura-gewuerzgurken-109500169900.html#ingredients

Well, some of them have a lot of sugar in them, I think... For example (values per 100g): Condy gherkins (https://produkte.migros.ch/condy-gewuerzgurken) 5.5 g organic gherkins (https://produkte.migros.ch/bio-gewuerzgurken) 5 g In comparison: M-Budget natural yoghurt (https://produkte.migros.ch/m-budget-joghurt-natur) 3.6 g I also don't like the taste; I love gherkins that are sour/tart (otherwise I can eat a normal gherkin); I don't like those that taste sweet because sugar has been added.
It's true that you would have to eat kilos of pickles to consume too much sugar; but you don't just eat pickles, you also eat other things throughout the day, so the sugar content adds up when you eat things that have sugar... I prefer to eat a chocolate or something sweet, for example, if I want to eat sugar, and not pickles with added sugar...

Thank you, but unfortunately we don't have an Alnatura in Wil SG. Next time I'll have a look in Constance. Pickled gherkins with sugar is a contradiction for me. My main concern is that I don't like or want sweet gherkins. The name says it all................

Thanks for the tip. I know them, I think they're quite good, but unfortunately a bit expensive, so I can't buy them all the time...
The M-Budget ones were the best! I haven't bought any more gherkins at Migros since they were taken out of the range, as all the others contain sugar. That's a no-go for me. I used to easily destroy a large jar a week on my own. @Twilight: thanks for the tip about the Alnatura pickles! I'll have to give them a try soon :-)

I feel the same way. It's a shame that Alnatura's are so expensive - and not available in Wil. I've also bought them from Aldi, they also have sugar in them, but much less.
The 1.5kg pot from Spar with the Austrian "Jeden Tag" gherkins is sugar-free with sweetener. Go and get two pots for my father once every two months, they are his favorites next to the spicy Turkish ones and without sugar, they used to be the M-Budget ones. Only found this online, but this is what they look like https://www.aktionis.ch/deals/jeden-tag-gurken 2.80.-
Thanks for the tip. I'll go and have a look.

Understandable. Sugar doesn't really belong in a pickle jar. That's a contradiction, I agree, but the purpose of sugar in these products is easy to explain: Sugar reduces the acidity of vinegar, but doesn't take away any of its flavor. That is the primary purpose of sugar in these products. If, for example, you were to leave out the sugar, you would have to use less vinegar and more water. We can probably already imagine the result of this in our minds *shudder*. I used to add a pinch of sugar to my vinegar-oil vinaigrette from time to time precisely to dampen the acidity a little. However, the taste was completely unchanged. I'm not trying to justify or gloss over the sugar in pickles, I just want people to understand why it's in these products in the first place :)
