According to nau.ch, Migros is banning Dubler Mohrenköpfe from its shelves. Never mind that this is an age-old product name and not a racist statement. It's worrying when you want to please everyone regardless of tradition and whether it's really a justified point. Fortunately, the Dubler company isn't very far away, so I can always go and buy a box from time to time.

I don't think men are bothered by the fact that there is an Epiphany cake but no Epiphany cake, nor have I ever heard a cry for a three-sultan cake. Just as people don't get annoyed about Berliners or Frankfurters. Animal rights activists have not yet gone on the barricades because of the "cold dog". There are countless foods and dishes that refer to population groups or are somehow macabre (e.g. "totebeinli"). nobody is bothered by this, why should they be? it is indeed discriminatory to pick out the Mohrenkopf from this flood of terms and call it discriminatory. especially because, as far as i understand it correctly, it was done on the initiative of a person who is in no way affected by it. where does a light-skinned person get the right to judge what a dark-skinned person should find discriminatory in terms of skin color? by removing the mohrenköfe in response to this twitter post, migros is legitimizing the attitude that light-skinned people know better what discrimination against darker-skinned people is than dark-skinned people themselves. and i find this paternalism really discriminatory. has anyone "affected" at migros even commented on this?
if larger groups of berliners, frankfurters or whoever complained that they felt offended by the labeling of certain foods, i would find it a bit exaggerated, but i would understand the renaming of certain foods. but under these circumstances, i find migros' reaction counterproductive.

To confuse you completely: the North Germans call Berliner Krapfen and the Berliners call it Pfannkuchen! Not to forget bear paws, cat paws uiuiui and kalte Schnauze (for the cold dog) there is also...
It's ridiculous what Migros is doing here! They are trying to put themselves in a better light in the wake of all the media hype and are trying to destroy a likeable family business. Fortunately, it's only a short way to Waltenschwil. The whole thing has absolutely nothing to do with racism. As has often been mentioned, Migros is doing itself in, untrustworthy down to the last detail.
Ever marveled at the coat of arms of Möriken AG?
Panic in Möriken-Wildegg in the canton of Aargau. With this coat of arms, the municipality is under general suspicion. Text from the https: Google link "mohren-auf-wappen-und-negerschnitten" I wish us all a more generous way of thinking, especially the minorities.

I used to be a big Migros fan too. but now it's annoying that more and more M budget products are disappearing but at the same time they advertise big. that you can't buy cheaper anywhere. and now Migros is coming up with racism... there is also racism against Swiss and white people but Migros doesn't seem to care. and now you don't throw out something that stands for tradition, in any case you will lose so many customers. even coop has become more sympathetic to me than Migros itself. greetings Hassan2018

Today, it is no longer what the consumer, the majority and democracy want that counts, no! ↵↵A know-it-all, self-appointed "elite" must dictate to the stupid people what they must do, think, say and not do, think and say.↵↵After all, the "elite" consists without exception of "educated" academics (law "sciences" and human "sciences" 😂😂😂 cover 90% of the entire parliament).↵↵↵This "elite" is dependent on state-protected workshops, i.e. where the real anti-social rip-off artists and parasites are at home. This requires voting for the "right" parties:↵↵The hypercorrect, gender-free, multisexual-vegan eco-Nazis ("Greens") and the left-wing fascist, antisocial and anti-liberal do-gooder fascists of the SP. As is well known, the latter also lead the media discourse and the narrative of eternal original sin (white man) with their state propaganda incitement SRG ("abzockeridée suisse").↵↵For the gutter, they have their storm troopers and protection squadron disguised as "Antifa", who regularly cause a ruckus and attract media attention with impunity.↵↵It is only logical that MIGROS should read the lips of this urbanized, antigentified hippster clientele.
If anyone is interested, here is an interview about it, the comments and voting on how to find the decision are still interesting... https://www.aargauerzeitung.ch/schweiz/mohrenkopf-produzent-dubler-suessigkeiten-sind-nicht-schuld-wenn-sich-menschen-plagen-138139829 (no login required, just click on the small X next to the window)
Great interview with Mr. Dubler in the AZ! He's absolutely right in everything he says. If I were him, I wouldn't supply anything more to Migros, even if they backtracked on their decision. As he says, he can survive without Migros, which I wish him all the best! I can only describe Migros' decision to remove the Mohrenköpfe from its range as cowardly. What exactly is Migros afraid of? There are other products with "dubious" names, but the manufacturers (Schwarzkopf,...) probably have a bigger lobby than Mr. Dubler.

Hypocritical PR campaigns by Migros under the guise of ethics and morals, while exploitative products and animal cruelty products from all over the world continue to be sold and even the most disgusting animal torture products (foie gras, yes I know, only in French-speaking Switzerland and supposedly less torturous...). There won't be much more sales from me either...
This decision is a real disgrace! The Mohrenkopf has absolutely nothing to do with racism, but is purely a brand name! Anyone who sees something other than a great chocolate confectionery or a patisserie in the name Mohrenkopf has serious problems in their head and should urgently seek psychiatric treatment! The only people who have a problem with Mohrenkopf are those who shout racism out loud! Because these people see something other than sweets! It is very regrettable and questionable that Migros, with its pseudo-political correctness, offers a platform to such morbid ideas of these "do-gooders" and gives them the right to do so! Pure populism! But at the same time a traditional Swiss company is being discriminated against! Absolutely questionable!!!!!
