Dubler Mohrenköpfe

According to nau.ch, Migros is banning Dubler Mohrenköpfe from its shelves. Never mind that this is an age-old product name and not a racist statement. It's worrying when you want to please everyone regardless of tradition and whether it's really a justified point. Fortunately, the Dubler company isn't very far away, so I can always go and buy a box from time to time.

It's a shame that M has decided to take this step. Don't shop there anymore! Go to Dubler and Aldi Coop etc.

I don't understand the problem. If you think about it further, I would now like to ask Migros to stop selling black salsify. This term is extremely racist. Thanks Mirgos. PS: What are we going to do with the Solothurn Schwarzbubenland?

I think it's a great pity that Migros has decided to take such a step. For me, THAT is discrimination! It only fuels racism and mistrust towards people of color.

With all due respect to the current racism movement. It is obvious that racism is a widespread problem (also in Switzerland) and needs to be tackled more effectively. However, I find it disconcerting that Migros is offering a questionable form of the whole movement a hugely effective media platform and presenting something as a "scapegoat" that is in no way connected. Sorry, never in my life would I or my three children associate the Moorish heads with a specific race of people. We ourselves also belong to a darker type of person. We probably don't have any other worries in Switzerland at the moment!

...because there should be no more "gypsy sauce" or "gypsy spit" and other things that are due to "hypocritical political correctness" 😡 🤬 I grew up with the term "mohrakopf" and that's how it will remain for me, just as Manor is still called Vilan and Co. for many today, the article is also interesting to read https://www.suedostschweiz.ch/politik/2020-06-10/migros-nimmt-nach-protesten-mohrenkoepfe-aus-dem-sortiment

Sorry Migi, but that's so laughable what you're doing! Don't you have any other problems? You'd better make sure that your goods are finally delivered online! (Ordered by 5 p.m., delivered tomorrow - after a few days your mail; due to Corona...

"Mohrenköpfe" as the children's brand since the end of the war. Now the M, MM & MMM's are allowing themselves to be harnessed to the cart of a minority. This in order to purify the German language. Has it been too long since German culture underwent a cleansing process? Let's remember that. It also started with some minority telling the majority what to do. I have to ask myself in all seriousness what is going on in the heads of the leadership. Am I still in a democracy that is shaped by majorities - or are the real supporting, determining forces committed to the minorities? We will be buying Moorish heads, M products ... for a long time to come?

Good point. I assume that Migros will close its store in Möriken-Wildegg immediately. Thank you Migros.

I grew up with carrots. I associate carrots with the sweet joys of childhood and have a corresponding emotional attachment to them. I have not and will not associate carrots with people of a different skin color. BUT: This is exactly what Migros is now trying to do!!! It allows itself to associate this term directly with the current BLM media coverage. This is not right and it is definitely the wrong priority. What is more reprehensible? The sale (and profit making!) of products with a high probability of child labor (often in African countries), such as chocolate (cocoa) or batteries in entertainment devices? Or the sale of Swiss-made carrot heads? Using this product to rub consumers' noses in the fact that they have been buying a politically reprehensible product from Migros in recent decades is hypocrisy and a mess! Migros presents itself as local and Swiss, with cultural DNA. Today, with this decision, you have "stung" the deep emotions of many loyal customers and proven that there is nothing wrong with cultural DNA. At the beginning of the corona crisis, Migros failed to prevent hamster purchases of various products with simple measures. But in the same crisis, it managed to jeopardize a traditional small business in Switzerland with this senseless decision before or in the middle of an economic crisis. Bravo, you're not like a bog! As a consequence, I will be less lenient in future with unsatisfactory or poorly packaged products from you and return them more quickly to customer service.
