The new Cumulus credit card is marketed with online application and real-time verification as well as immediate digital use. Unfortunately, this does not work. After online registration, a paper application is sent by post with a B Mail reply envelope. The desired additional card is not on the application. Works better with Migros & Migrosbank.

You do nothing. The Mastercard from Cembrabank will be replaced by the new Cashback Mastercard after expiry. You still want a Cumulus credit card. You must now apply to Migrosbank for the new Visa card. As soon as the application is approved, you can cancel the Cembra Mastercard so that it is not extended after expiry. I have opted for the Cashback Mastercard from Cembra and therefore do nothing ;-).
Thanks for the answer, I just received the new Master Card today, I'll stay with Cembra Bank, it's just easier, and Cembra isn't that much worse than Migros/Visa, sure, no Cumulus points, but at least 1% back on purchases at Migros, Coop and SBB and 0.33% on other purchases. I don't see any other major advantages over Migros/Visa.

Thanks for the answer, I just received the new Master Card today, I'll stay with Cembra Bank, it's just easier, and Cembra isn't that much worse than Migros/Visa, sure, no Cumulus points, but at least 1% back on purchases at Migros, Coop and SBB and 0.33% on other purchases. I don't see any other major advantages over Migros/Visa.
Of course, I do not see any further DISADVANTAGES of Cembra compared to Migros/Visa.

The other day my brother called me and told me that he got the new Raiffeisen EC card (for withdrawing money from the ATM) but it looks like a credit card... but he never applied for it, he just renewed the normal card, with credit card function, and indeed. He came to visit and we tried to buy something online in the Playstation store, paid with the credit card, took the new card and voila... it worked. I still don't quite understand which ones and which ones not, but yes, withdrawing money from an ATM and paying online with it works. Maybe an alternative if the topic is so complicated for one or the other?
This is not a credit card, but a debit card. Credit card = Is linked to a credit card account with the credit card company. The balance is debited or invoiced once a month via direct debit. Prepaid credit card = This credit card account is only managed on a credit basis. The cardholder is responsible for topping it up in good time. Debit card = Unlike a credit card, this is linked to the cardholder's personal bank account. Maestro and V-Pay will be abolished and replaced by the corresponding Debit Mastercard and Debit Visacard.

Why not good? In many cases you can save yourself a credit card because you only need it for hotel and rental car reservations and for filling up at certain machines. With the Postfinance card, you can switch off payment via the Internet 3dSecure, contactless payment and general use outside Switzerland and the EU.

1. I only need my bank card for withdrawing money at the counter or from the bank's own ATMs and e-banking, I don't want to pay 5 or more for a third-party ATM, I'd regret the money. 2. what about security if such a "double card" is gone, and there are also many people who don't need/want such a thing, so I would think it would be good if the bank/post office also offered a card that can only be used "in-house".

I only need a debit card once a year to pay for the new antivirus, as this is no longer available in the relevant stores and there is no better alternative for the product. (Thanks to M-Electronic, Mediamarkt for throwing out this product) ...and if you need it, you have to have such sch.... Schmaraphone or tablet, the rest is at "Nachtspalter as an answer.

I think these debit cards are good. Even people who don't have a credit card can use them to pay in online stores or abroad (or in the new, staff-free stores) just as easily as if they had one. The only thing is that you can't benefit from the bonus programs. I don't need the card to withdraw cash. I haven't been to an ATM for so long that I can't even remember the last time I withdrew cash. But it must have been more than twenty years ago.
