Hello I received vouchers from a purchase at Melectronics, but they expired on 31.5.21. According to Migros, they say that they will not be extended. However, I don't find it at all accommodating on the part of Migros to simply let this amount of vouchers expire. Has anyone had any other experiences? Is it possible to take action against this?

How long were they valid for? It's been a while since they opened in May, maybe they would have been more accommodating if it had only been a day over?
That's just 6 months. And these are not vouchers that have been accumulated but vouchers that have arisen from a single purchase. In my opinion, the customer should be given more time.

Cumulus vouchers (blue) are normally valid for 2 years from the date of receipt.

Yes, but it's not about the blue vouchers. However, it's not at all clear what kind of "value vouchers" are involved... Simply some that are supposed to have been handed in after a purchase at Melectronics. It's not at all clear what it's all about...

That's what I actually wanted to know😉 (which vouchers were involved).

These are the blue vouchers... and they are not a few.... Any ideas?

If these are indeed the blue Cumulus vouchers, you had two full years to redeem them. If you let these vouchers expire unused, it is your own fault and you cannot expect Migros to recognize them as a means of payment today. Nor can you take any action against it.
Hello Phantomas00 According to the general terms and conditions, Cumulus vouchers expire after 2 years. They cannot be exchanged for new vouchers or reactivated. It is stated in the redemption conditions that the vouchers can be redeemed up to the expiry date printed on them. We regret that we cannot give you better information. Kind regards Sofia

That's exactly how I see it. Apart from that, everything is legally flawless with these vouchers: the expiration date is always printed clearly and legibly on all vouchers - no matter which ones they are. Customers themselves are responsible for ensuring that the vouchers are redeemed on time. It's the same as with vouchers from bookshops, music stores etc.: The expiration dates are always printed on them too; if you let the voucher expire, it's unfortunately your own fault. It is clear that there is no goodwill. And you can't take legal action against it, or you can, but it won't help, you'll go down with flags flying, Migros is doing everything correctly and has the law on its side.

Hello Sofia I have read the Cumulus GTCs. But I'm still wondering why I can't buy gift cards with my Cumulus vouchers? I can then give these gift cards as presents - which I can't do with the digital vouchers. Wouldn't it be worth considering changing this clause? Greetings Andi

This is not possible because you do not receive any Cumulus points for the corresponding amount when paying with the blue vouchers. You could avoid this rule by converting to the gift card.
