Brown Sugar

Brown Sugar

Dear Migröler

As there are hardly any authentic American baked goods to buy in Switzerland, I like to bake a delicious cookie or a tasty cinnamon roll myself from time to time. Many recipes require dark or light brown sugar (something completely different from the brown sugar we usually use!). Unfortunately, you can hardly buy it anywhere and I have to order the sugar online. It would be great if, for example, the light and dark Domino sugar were also available in Migros!

Incidentally, I'm not alone with this problem, many expats seem to have the same problem(http://www.englishforum.ch/search2.php?q=brown+sugar)

Dear Esther

The fact is that we have a certain amount of space available for each product category. That's why we have to weigh up which products have potential and are popular with many customers and which are less so.

If, for example, we remove a product from the ready meals range, this unfortunately does not automatically give us more space for alternative sugar products.

I am very sorry that we have to disappoint you with this. But as promised: We will continue to monitor market developments and regularly check whether the introduction of brown sugar will be possible.

I hope you will understand.

Kind regards
Tanja, Migipedia team

I recently chatted with the product manager at Jelmoli Gourmessa - the only place in Zurich where I found Brown Sugar - and she said that Muscovado sugar is one of her best-selling sugars ever. I just don't think your methods in "market observation" produce very valid results. I would argue that in this case, the proof of the pudding is in the eating. You underestimate the demand among expats from England and America.
You have special products from various countries, but you almost completely neglect the Anglo-Saxon region (no, dry donuts and pseudo hip fast food don't count).
And if shelf space really is the only problem, why don't you at least offer the sugar in the LeShop?

Dear Migros

After all these reactions, you really need to think about whether you want Coop to have the larger range of baked goods and be ahead in this area. Unfortunately, I've already had to realize this, even though you are clearly my favorites.

As Samaz has already mentioned, I'm not particularly fond of your cheescakes, bagles etc. either.

I hope you've opened my link from my last post. There you can see the variety of sugar and that there is clearly more than granulated and cane sugar.

I would even be prepared to work out a recipe with you so that you can put it on the back of the Muscobado packaging as a suggestion ;-)

It's been a year since the last message in this thread. Any update? Do you have brawn sugar now?

Hello dear Migro customers

Somehow I can't find it ...

Hello everyone

I went to Aligro in Schlieren for the first time in mid-July and spent what felt like hours wandering through the shelves to see all the products. Brown Sugar was there! Unfortunately, I can't find any Aligro products online. Why don't you call first before you go there?

@valbione
Can anyone shop there or only people from the gat trade? What about the quantities? I like to hoard certain products, but I wouldn't be able to accommodate restaurant-standard quantities.
