I suspect competitions where free entry is possible are subject to different lottery laws than those where purchase is compulsory. Migros may have chosen a "free entry with obstacles" for tactical reasons.

I would have liked to know what this hotline is all about, but if I have to enter a telephone number, I won't bother.

Migros is required by law to offer free participation. It is a competition in which there must be no obligation to buy in order to participate. When Blick offered its bingo games, it also had to give the bingo cards away for free and print the numbers daily not only in the newspaper but also on the advertising poster with the headlines. The Zweifel company is also currently running a competition; there is a code on every packet of chips. It is also possible to take part free of charge there (for the legal reasons mentioned above - creating the opportunity for everyone to take part), but it is much easier to do than here at Migros.
And with regard to the information: It is not usual for Migros to ask for a telephone number. Although it has been a mandatory field from time to time, it has always been deactivated as such when it has been pointed out. The link to the newsletter subscription is also legally incorrect.
@Traberli, it's not too late for you. You can still take part in the free trial now. And so can your friend. I myself will also be collecting stickers when I go shopping, for the neighboring family with children ?

In the meantime I have solved 7 games and am on 7/13 - now that you write it, I remember again that I had also given up the free participation in the wheel of fortune because of the telephone number and the newsletter. Since that was probably before 25.5.2018 (when the GDPR came into force), the newsletter is hardly mandatory anymore, but who knows...
