It would be great if Migros could offer an alternative to disposable monthly hygiene products - such as the silicone trays. Perhaps to bring the Generation M idea into this topic as well. After all, it is quite a production effort and a mountain of waste that is generated here.

@ Moz: Think of it like a silicone espresso cup without a handle or a thimble, just bigger. The whole thing is then used like a tampon with the difference that it doesn't soak up the liquid but collects it and you don't throw it away after use but empty it, wash it out briefly with water and reinsert it. Once Aunt Rösi's visit is over, the thing is boiled and reused the following month. It may take a bit of practice at the beginning to get a feel for it, but it was no different with tampons =) Wearing comfort is perfect.

Wow, I've never heard anything like that before. Certainly a good alternative, but what do you do when you're out and the sink is outside the toilet...
Sooner or later you'll come across them (on the net)... I don't order them online (overpriced?!). But buying it at a good price in Migros: immediately!

I read about this on the Internet some time ago. But to be honest, it's not my cup of tea. When do you know when the cup is full?
There are washbasins and toilets on the road. - They may look clean, but it's not really hygienic when you're on the road.

I'm already thinking about having surgery to end the monthly misery. All the bleeding and pill-munching is starting to get on my nerves.
I've been using one of these cups for a few months now and I'm very happy with it! The cost is quickly put into perspective, as you can even use the cup for several years depending on how well you look after it and use it (you can boil it, so it's very hygienic). At first, using the cup was quite complicated, but after my third period I got the hang of it and would never use tampons again. You can leave the cup in for several hours (there are different sizes and you quickly realize how often you need to empty it). If I didn't always have severe cramps, I would almost forget that I was having my period.
