Is the dye used here obtained from female scale insects?
Hello ivan92 The colorant E120 (real carmine) is obtained from the scarlet scale insect and is always of animal origin. However, the dye is not in the bread itself, but in the AOP wafer. Best regards from your M-Infoline team

What is meant by "AOP wafer"?
The wafer in this case is the thin pastry with the red, white and black "AOP" seal affixed to the bread.
