Hello The lid has been made much thinner and worse. It doesn't close properly. If the bottle tips over, water runs out because you can't close it properly. What a shame.

Our manufacturer has changed the cap to comply with the new EU regulations for single-use plastic. By 2024, all plastic drinks bottles must be fitted with a cap that is firmly attached to the bottle. This will lead to a reduction in waste in the form of caps and ensure that caps are systematically collected and recycled. Hello, water is not water - but you can't "change" much either. However, about 4 weeks ago, I noticed a musty smell coming from the neck of the bottle after opening it. The rest of the 6-pack was ok. Now, when I open a 1.5 l bottle again, I get this smell. This hasn't been the case for as long as I can remember and I drink at least one bottle a day. Have others noticed this? Kind regards

Unfortunately, the clarifications with the manufacturer took much longer than expected. When checking reference samples, no errors were found. We therefore assume that the affected bottles were damaged during transportation. This allowed them to absorb an off-odor. We are certainly keeping an eye on this issue. Thank you for your reply regarding Vittel mineral water. It was already clear to me in advance that Migros finds a justification for everything, whereas other companies act against this and remove such products from their range. I had already contacted the Migros information line about products containing palm oil in the past. Even then, I only received justifications and no insight into the fact that such products should actually be banned. Thank you also for the customer service address of Nestlé, which I have contacted several times in the past and never received a reply. These are also reasons why we strictly boycott Nestlé products and brands owned by Nestlé and no longer shop at Migros.

After Nestlé's Vittel scandal a few weeks ago, the Vittel campaign at Migros from next week seems like sheer cynicism. Vittel, a small village in Lotringen, is running out of drinking water because Nestlé is constantly pumping out the groundwater there. Since Nestlé has been doing this, the groundwater level has dropped by 30 cm every year. Now a pipeline is to be built to supply the village with drinking water from outside, at the expense of the inhabitants of Vittel. To avoid having to cultivate the 5000 hectares of land that Nestlé has bought there itself, shepherds are allowed to graze their sheep on it. But the sheep are not allowed to be watered with the spring water. It is highly questionable that Migros still stocks Vittel water at all. But now a large-scale campaign? An absolute no-go.

The laboratory found arsenic in 4 waters - according to the report, most of all in Vittel (3.8 µg/l). Vittel contained 3.8 micrograms of uranium per liter (µg/l) and was unsatisfactory in the overall assessment. The limit value is much higher, the topic much discussed... Make up your own mind.

Food quality and food safety are the cornerstones of our strategy. We do everything we can to offer our consumers products that comply with current standards - without any ifs or buts.
We are IFS-certified (International Food Standard) and hundreds of analyses and checks are carried out every day in our in-house laboratories.
Germs are microorganisms that occur in large numbers in nature. Some pose a health risk to humans, while others may even be essential for human life: for example, they play a crucial role in the functioning of our digestive system.
According to the World Health Organization, natural mineral water contains a natural bacterial flora that meets current food safety standards. These bacteria are non-pathogenic and therefore pose no risk to human health.
To ensure that the water is germ-free, the bacterial load of natural mineral water must not exceed 100 CFU/ml (colony-forming units) at the source. These harmless germs tend to multiply after bottling. Their multiplication is a normal natural process that poses no risk to the consumer. If you want to compare the bacterial load of different bottles, you must therefore use bottles that were filled on the same day and stored under the same conditions.
In the case of the Saldo test, we doubt that the different bottles were filled and stored in a comparable way. The results published by Saldo are therefore not meaningful in terms of the quality of the water compared.
The context described above requires an understanding of both the current legal situation and the difference between mineral water and tap water. Saldo has assessed the mineral waters according to the criteria for tap water, although these are subject to different legal requirements.
Mineral water must be bottled at the source and must not undergo any treatment or have any additives. (Art. 13. of the Ordinance on Drinking, Spring and Mineral Water).
Since natural mineral water contains a natural bacterial flora and the law prohibits any treatment of natural mineral water that could alter its composition, it naturally contains microorganisms. The total microbial load does not pose any risk to human health and the law does not set any standards for mineral water in this respect. Consequently, the microbial contamination of mineral water determined by Saldo meets the legal requirements.
Tap water, on the other hand, is subject to different regulations as it can come from several sources and is therefore of variable quality. As a rule, it is subjected to treatments that serve to remove microorganisms. According to the law, tap water may not contain more than 300 CFU per milliliter, whereby this limit serves primarily to prove the effectiveness of the treatment.
The VITTEL mineral water received a "sufficient" rating in the above test due to its arsenic content. Arsenic is a natural substance that is widespread in the environment. Traces of it can therefore be found in any form of water - be it bottled water or tap water. Its presence depends on the origin of the water, e.g. the rock that has filtered it. Compared to the quantities of arsenic we come into contact with in everyday life, the arsenic contamination of drinking water is negligible. If our bottled water does contain arsenic, these levels are well below the international standards of 10 g per liter of arsenic set by the World Health Organization (WHO). Consequently, we can confirm that VITTEL is safe to consume.

i once heard that vittel has sugar in it, is that true?

You are referring to the Vittel product in PET 6x1.5L format. This is a natural mineral water that remains absolutely unchanged and therefore contains no sugar. One Vittel product that is sweetened with natural sugar is Vitalitos.
