Dear Migros
I bought the Suemi grapes from Brazil at Migros Kloten today, Saturday, 07.12.13. Unfortunately, I found them totally inedible. Even after thorough washing, they taste very strongly of chemicals, probably some kind of pesticide. I also had reactions on my tongue, a strong burning sensation.
I often buy these grapes and have been delighted with them so far, but have never paid attention to where the fruit comes from until now.
I will pay close attention to this in future and avoid Brazil.
Kind regards
Sylvia Nyffenegger
Hi Sylvia
Thank you very much for your comment. We are sorry that you are disappointed with our grapes.
In accordance with legal requirements, both producers and suppliers and we ourselves as Migros carry out regular risk-based self-monitoring of fruit and vegetables for pesticide residues. To assess the tests, the legal requirements of Switzerland and the Migros specifications are taken into account.
The cultivation methods and pesticide plans are subject to strict specifications which are adhered to by the producers and monitored by independent companies. Our suppliers undertake to comply with the maximum quantity of pesticides defined by law and we carry out regular checks.
The aroma is determined by the ingredients, minerals and the associated soil conditions. Depending on the climatic conditions, the soil conditions and the location of a field, this can influence the taste.
However, we have informed our supplier of your feedback. We apologize for the loss of enjoyment.
We hope you can enjoy our quality again and wish you a pleasant day.
Best regards from the M-Infoline team
