I bought a bottle of it in the middle of August 23. The contents are much richer than before. Another customer has already commented on this. Is this new, partly because so many comments have been made about clogging of the cap, or is it simply a faulty production, but still edible?
Hello rolä, thank you for your question. We tested reserve samples and also found that the texture is thinner than usual. We normally use corn starch to make this sauce. Unfortunately, we are currently unable to procure this raw material as corn starch is affected by a supply interruption. For this reason, we have used potato starch as an alternative. Internal tests have not shown any immediate differences, but unfortunately the sweet chili sauce has liquefied during storage. We are working hard to get corn starch back as soon as possible. However, the product is still edible. Best regards, your M-Infoline team

Dear Infoline. I also think that the sauce is great but the manufacturer is simply talking garbage here just because he is too lazy to finally produce a sensible bottle cap or can't admit his mistake or his product test is simply unrealistic. There is a reason why this is already the third question concerning the closure. Because we've probably already used 5 bottles of this sauce in the last few years (i.e. various different batches) and every time we use it, and that's really no exaggeration, the cap gets clogged with pieces of chilli when the bottle comes out of the fridge where it's supposed to be stored after opening. Try it yourself. Put the bottle in the fridge and then try to take out a large amount of sauce, e.g. for spring rolls, and the cap will clog up because it is simply garbage. As a customer, I'm not interested in whether the pieces of chili meet the 1-3 mm standard. Then the standard is simply garbage too, but the fact is that this closure SIMPLY DOES NOT WORK, manufacturer test or not, which obviously just doesn't correspond to reality. I get upset every single time we use this bottle. I now unscrew the cap completely so that I can take out any sauce at all. Otherwise, the only thing that helps is to wash it out thoroughly with water and even then it clogs up again the next time it is used or even directly at the table. I can make a nice video about this until you and the manufacturer finally believe it. This happened again today. I opened a new bottle and after the 3rd time I took out the sauce, it was over, even with a lot of force, little or nothing came out. The only thing that helped was to wash it out until the next time! Could you please test this yourself and then put pressure on the manufacturer. And just so BTW: Improving the bottle would be customer service but apparently McCormick doesn't believe in the slogan "The customer is king". Rather "Attention customer" who wants to deny any crap, if possible everything and claim that everything is fine even if it is the opposite.
Hello marcelser, thank you for your message. We clarified your points of criticism with our manufacturer. He checked his most recently produced batches and found no deviations during production. As we wrote in our earlier message, the standard size of the chilli pieces of 1-3 mm was adhered to. This should not cause any difficulties when pouring. However, our supplier will take another look at the closure and examine alternatives. Due to stock levels and the persistently longer delivery times since the pandemic, we are unfortunately unable to offer you a quick solution. We sell numerous bottles of this sweet chili sauce and very rarely receive responses to the spout. As everywhere, requirements vary greatly. For example, many customers appreciate the fact that not too much sauce comes out. That's why we don't want to simply enlarge the openings. We hope that the taste of the sauce will continue to impress you so that you will buy it from us again. Best regards, your M-Infoline team
OK, so I also measured this because it seemed very strange to me and the manufacturer either can't measure properly or detect deviations or his quality assurance is abysmal. In my bottle (and these are only a few pieces of chilli on the edge) the majority of the pieces are around 4-8mm in size, see pictures with measuring tape. So the manufacturer should once again claim that the chili pieces correspond to the standard size of 1-3mm, this statement is simply wrong. I could provide you with hundreds of such pictures if I were to pour the sauce through a sieve so that only the chilli pieces remain, but as I have paid for the sauce I will refrain from doing so. Who knows, if the pieces corresponded to this 1-3mm standard, the closure might even work. Be that as it may, with the current size of the chili pieces in the bottles, the caps will clog up in no time at all. I'm not interested in a quick solution. The issue of stock levels is absolutely clear and nobody is asking for the bottles to be converted - that would not be financially viable - but that a solution be found. I am still of the opinion that this closure is a misconception or that the chilli pieces need to be massively reduced in size - ALL chilli pieces (not just a few that are being examined).
And as a special treat, we even have a chili gem over 1 cm in size in the bottle. A guarantee that the bottle will clog up again as quickly as possible.
Hello marcelser, thank you for your feedback. We understand your objections regarding our response. As we have already explained, we were unable to detect any discrepancies when checking samples from different production series. For this reason, we would ask you to send us the best-before date and the batch number (a combination of numbers and letters) of the container in the photos. Because we share your opinion that chilies over 1 cm in size should not be. Best regards, your M-Infoline team
I'm not quite sure what the batch number is, but next to the barcode is the following information: GEFR 2205 E07267 11 880613 02
Hello marcelser, thank you for your feedback and patience. We also emptied a bottle completely through the cap. The sauce went through the opening without any problems, without us having to exert massive pressure. We also found pieces that were larger than 3 mm, but these were mostly shell pieces that were less than 1 mm thick and passed through the spout without any problems.
In general, the piece size should only be considered as part of an overall assessment. The pieces are all so soft that even slight pressure can deform them and push them through the opening. The recipe and raw materials have been used for years.

Fine product, but the pieces in the sauce are too big for the cap and therefore block the outlet... The cap is unfortunately unusable for this product.
Hello kein_coopkind, thank you for letting us know. We will be happy to look into your experience. As a first step, could you please let us know the best-before date and the lot number of the affected product? Best regards, your M-Infoline team

Hello kein_coopkind, thank you very much for your feedback. We really appreciate your help. We are still clarifying your request. We will get back to you as soon as we receive an answer from the specialist department. We ask for your patience. Best regards, your M-Infoline team
Hi kein_coopkind, thank you again for your feedback on the Thai Kitchen Sweet Chili Sauce. The manufacturer has checked his production records and retained samples. He could not find any deviations. The chili pieces were 1 - 3 mm in size and could be poured out of the bottle without any problems. However, we will certainly keep an eye on the issue. Best regards, your M-Infoline team

Good sauce! Cap unfortunately leaks after opening.
Dear guest
We have asked our supplier whether the problem is known. It is important that you make sure that the edge of the closure is not contaminated, as seeds or small pieces can often get stuck there, which means that the closure is no longer tight.
Best regards from the M-Infoline team
