Yesterday I also stood in front of the shelf and bought the red curry paste, as I have often done. I've been a fan for years, and now it says: Extra hot! A new recipe.
I don't think the quality is right any more as the taste has been lost because there are more chillies in it. If you want it hotter, you can add fresh chilli pepper. Too bad, my wife had a burning stomach today...

We are sorry that you are not satisfied with the curry paste.
The producer may have made the recipe a little too spicy. We have therefore stuck a sticker "Extra hot" on the jars that were not made with the correct recipe. However, this is only temporary. As soon as the stores have sold out of the extra hot item, the old Thai Kitchen red curry paste will be put on the shelves.

Two days ago I was walking up and down the shelves looking for a product just like this, but couldn't find it. It was either well hidden or no longer available. Are they still available in large stores in Zurich, do any of you know? I did find an alternative, but this product would have been better.

Yes, I like to eat very spicy food and have always loved the red paste. But now it's really extremely hot. It is labeled with 2 chillies, the green one with 3 chillies. But the red one has become much, much hotter.
What has been changed?

I feel exactly the same as chjoth. I've been using the paste for years and it seems to me to have become hotter, while at the same time the red coloring has diminished. My last curry was quite pale but very hot.

Thank you for your comment. We can assure you that nothing has been changed in the recipe. As these are natural ingredients of herbs and spices, certain variations are possible not only in the taste (intensity) but also in the degree of spiciness.
According to the manufacturer, the product exhibited the usual spiciness during the sensory test after production. We have now carried out a tasting and agree with you that the red curry is hotter than usual. It is possible that the spiciness has increased during transportation from Thailand to Switzerland and some storage time.
We have instructed our manufacturer to produce a new, milder version. New goods have already been produced and shipped, we expect them to arrive around mid-April.

We can assure you that there has been no change to the recipe for this product. We have checked our retained samples using your M-data and the lot number. These are flawless.
However, there can always be natural fluctuations in natural products. We therefore assume that some of the chili paste has a higher degree of spiciness.
We are grateful for your information. Please let us know if this happens again. In this case, we will also need the M-Data and the lot number again.

I have been buying the product for years. I need half a jar per meal for two people. The paste was always super tasty, a little spicy - just right.
Since about December, unfortunately, the product is inedible. Much too spicy. Yesterday I added a liter (1l) of water for half a glass of paste (in addition to the coconut milk) and it was still too spicy.
What have you done to my beloved paste? Something was definitely changed.
Oh yes: I've already been to Thailand - don't let anyone think I don't know what I'm talking about ;-)

We regret that you are not satisfied with the quality of a product from our range. In order for us to investigate this matter, we need the M-Data (date of sale and/or use by date) and the batch or lot number of the item in question.
With the help of this number, we can check when exactly the product in question was manufactured and whether any errors occurred during production at that time. You will normally find the lot/batch number next to the best-before date, usually starting with the letter L or a mixture of letters and numbers. We ask you to provide us with this number and refer to your reference IN_1216242.
We can use this information to clarify the causes of this incident and avoid similar events in the future. Please understand that without this information we will not be able to make any clarifications and therefore cannot give you a clarifying answer.

Has anything been changed in the recipe? It has always been mild. I almost need the whole jar for one dish. But now it has an extremely
