Bought several packs last Saturday. Best before 23.12.2023. Lot: L2014532393. Origin Australia. Unfortunately they are very soft and are slightly rancid. Is that too normal? This has never been the case with the organic version that I usually buy. I am not satisfied.

Hello wonderwall, thank you for your message. In view of your description, we understand why the products raised questions. It was therefore all the more important for us to follow up on your information. The clarifications we made with the relevant specialist department took some time. We are sorry that we are only now getting back to you with news. We no longer wish to withhold the results of our investigations from you. The examination of the sample packs we received was flawless. We did not find that the consistency was too soft, nor did the taste show any abnormalities. Nevertheless, we have our suspicions. Because pecan nuts are natural products, they are subject to fluctuations due to their nature. The latter cannot be completely avoided. This is why numerous checks are essential. We are disappointed that we were not able to identify the specimens you purchased in time. We apologize to you for the uncertainty this has caused. As an immediate measure, we are optimizing the monitoring processes. If necessary, further adjustments will follow. We hope that our efforts are in your interest and that you will give our pecan nuts another chance to convince you of their proven taste. Best regards, your M-Infoline team

Hello, do Sun Queen Pecans contain pesticides? You say they are heated, if so could you tell me at what temperature and if there is acrylamide formation. Thank you

Hello AAS, We apologize for having to reply only today. Acrylamide is formed by the Maillard reaction when starch is overheated, mainly when food is baked, browned, roasted, grilled or fried. The main building block for acrylamide in foodstuffs is the amino acid asparagine. Its synthesis is further stimulated by the presence of sugars, such as fructose and glucose. If these elements are present in a product, acrylamide is formed at temperatures above 100°C. As far as pesticides are concerned, we require our suppliers to comply with the quality requirements laid down by Swiss legislation. We also sample pecans for pesticide residues, and if we find any discrepancies in quality, the goods are rejected and not put on sale. Best regards your M-Infoline team

We have always been very happy with this product - our favorite nuts besides cashews. However, we now had two bags (expiration date 10.6.2017 14:28 / L0000000079 355, provenance South Africa) in which the nuts had a distinctly different, "older" taste. The nuts looked fairly normal - a little larger than usual, perhaps a little more abrasion, but no visible parasite infestation. Was this a borderline batch (storage damage?), or are South African pecan nuts simply different? I have now eaten them anyway...

Hello RolfKyburz, thank you for your message. It's a shame that you no longer like the pecan nuts. We have tasted and analyzed your and our reserve samples from the same batch and could not find any deviations from the norm. It is indeed the case that the pecans from South Africa and those from the USA show slight differences, for example in size and also in taste. However, these are still within tolerance and meet our quality requirements. Pecan nuts are a natural product and can therefore vary slightly from country to country. We randomly check various parameters every time we receive goods and if these are not met, the goods will not be delivered. We hope that you will enjoy the nuts again in the future. Best regards, Your M-Infoline Team

Are these nuts roasted or raw? I can't find this information anywhere. Thank you!

Hello Pekry, please excuse our late reply. Pecans are heated to make them last longer. They can therefore no longer be described as raw. We hope this information is useful to you. Best regards, Your M-Infoline Team

Sorry, just wanted to ask once - it was obviously a server problem that caused me to click multiple times (thought it was my mouse) ...

These are actually our favorite nuts (the only thing that bothers me is the narrow shape of the packaging, I find the format of the hazelnut pack more handy / convenient, and the resealability is secondary for me). However, we recently bought two packs of batch 49 (expiration date 27.6.2015, "13:46 Provenance: USA), which were really strange in taste (but visually okay). I thought maybe I had simply spoiled the nuts - but now that the package is empty anyway, I have realized that the nuts have a foreign taste (like emulsion or oil paint). Were the walls around the packing machine painted? I just hope I haven't poisoned myself?

I have seen that they are imported from the USA. Couldn't they possibly be imported from Canada, Mexico or Australia, for example? As I generally don't buy things from the USA or Israel... Thank you very much! :-)

Hello Fairtrader Thank you for your contribution. We are pleased that you are one of our valued customers. We have informed our responsible department about your request. They have confirmed that we currently source our pecans exclusively from the USA. However, our specialists are constantly testing new suppliers and countries of origin. Unfortunately, we have not yet found an equivalent alternative, but we will not give up our search. Suggestions and constructive criticism are very important to us. They allow us to constantly review and optimize our products and services. Thank you very much once again. Now we wish you a pleasant afternoon and a wonderful Advent season. Kind regards from the M-Infoline team
