Why do cranberries, which I love, need so much sugar? There are 78g of carbohydrates, including 68g of sugar. Is that necessary?
Hello Nath747,sugar has several functions in sweet cranberries: it reduces their sour and bitter taste and helps them stay tender and juicy. It also helps extend their shelf life. Our organic cranberries contain slightly less sugar (63 g of sugar). If you want to avoid sugar completely, you can find organic cranberries with no added sugar (4 g of sugar) online. Are these cranberries sulphurized?
Hi Isa9th, thank you for your question. Sun Queen cranberries are not sulphurized. You can find out whether our dried fruit has been treated with sulphur dioxide for preservation on the back of the packaging in the list of ingredients.
