I would have liked to know whether the product contains onion and/or garlic powder. It only says "spice extracts", so it is not clear which spices these are. That would be important for me to know, thank you very much.

Hello Cornelia_22, the product contains ingredients made from onions and garlic. Best regards, your M-Infoline team

Good morning, is the product gluten-free? My husband should know because he has celiac disease. Thank you very much

Good evening VeraC Where a product contains gluten-containing ingredients, this indicates gluten containing grains (wheat, spelt, rye, barley, etc.) must be openly declared consequence: note list of ingredients! ("May contain gluten" or "may contain traces of gluten") are on the traces of possible abduction in the manufacturing process must be at the end of the ingredient list with a Can-contained note underlined. Spices are, by definition, gluten-free. seasoning mixes may contain gluten, this would then also be stated (as a seasoning [with wheat starch]). regards Frederica

Hi VeraC, the product Subito Polenta fixfertig (1572.440) does not contain gluten. If the ingredients of a product contain gluten, this must be openly stated by indicating the grains containing gluten (wheat, spelt, rye, barley, oats, etc.). It is not allowed to "hide" gluten-containing ingredients! If there is a possibility that traces of gluten are present as a result of any contamination that occurred during the production process, it is mandatory to include such a warning ("May contain gluten" or "May contain traces of gluten") at the end of the ingredient list. The packaging is awkward to open! Could you add a pull tab or some other easier system? (also for rösti and potato patties)

Hi Miammm ...but has proved its worth, otherwise the polenta roll would not be so popular and, apart from a small interruption, on the shelves for years. Take the knife... I won't copy my comment to the other products you mentioned. Best regards Frederica

Hello Miammm, thank you for your message. We are sorry that the packaging is difficult to open. We have informed the relevant specialist department of your proposal. However, we hope you will understand if this is not implemented, or at least not immediately. With best regards, your M-Infoline team

Answer to Frederica: I know what preservatives are. I just don't understand the term "without preservatives according to the law". It also gives the customer the impression that there are no additives in the product. But that is not the case. It has emulsifier E471 (mono- and diglycerides) and antioxidant ascorbic acid (E300). I also don't understand why the additives are listed once as an EN number and once with the correct name. Can someone explain this to me?

Hello regor63, there are customers who think that this polenta keeps so well because it contains preservatives. However, this is not the case and it would not be permitted by law to add preservatives to this product. We inform customers of this by stating "No preservatives according to the law". As you write, the product does not contain any preservatives, but other additives that belong to other categories (emulsifiers, antioxidants). The product is therefore obviously not manufactured entirely without additives, which is why the statement "Without additives" would not be permitted. By law, additives can also be declared either by their name or, more briefly, by their E number. Here you are free to choose depending on the space on the packaging or how well known the name is. We hope that we have been able to answer your questions. Best regards, your M-Infoline team

The packaging says: Without flavor-enhancing additives. The ingredients list includes seasoning. However, there are a lot of flavor enhancers (monosodium glutamate) in the seasoning, so there are also flavor enhancers in the polenta. How do you explain this?

Hello regor63, if a seasoning with flavor-enhancing additives were used here, this would be noted in the list of ingredients, but this is not the case. Best regards, your M-Infoline team

What does without preservatives mean according to the law? What about preservatives according to the law?

"Preservatives" are substances that extend the shelf life of foods by protecting them from the harmful effects of microorganisms or from the growth of pathogenic microorganisms. Source: FDHA Ordinance on Permitted Additives in Foodstuffs - Annex 1

Hello, the product is vegan. However, we wanted to find out what is contained in the seasoning and spice extracts. We know that Aromat may contain lactose, among other things. Can you rule out the possibility that dairy products are used in any form in the seasoning or spice extracts? Up to what limit must this be indicated on the packaging? Thank you very much for your reply.

Hello Fambe, The two ingredients "sprinkled seasoning" and "spice extracts" in Subito Polenta fixfertig do not contain any lactose-containing ingredients. In Switzerland, the labeling requirement for allergenic ingredients generally applies. Milk and products made from it, including milk sugar (lactose), must always be clearly declared. This also applies if the ingredient is only contained in small quantities or as part of a compound ingredient (e.g. "sprinkled seasoning (milk)"). The list of ingredients on the packaging therefore indicates whether ingredients containing milk or lactose were used in the manufacture of a product according to the recipe. In addition, Switzerland has a labeling requirement for unintentional mixtures or possible carry-over if the content in the product is or could be over 1 g per kilogram in relation to the end product (may-contain note at the end of the list of ingredients, e.g. "May contain milk"). Therefore: Check the list of ingredients! Best regards, your M-Infoline team
