Allow me to ask a third (!) question about this product. I hope I am not trying your patience too much. The product contains ethylhexyl salicylate. This filter is apparently considered slightly questionable. What do you think? Especially because sunscreen is often swallowed in small quantities in the facial area. Thank you in advance for your reply, your customer service is excellent.

Hello Sunlover31, thank you for your question. As required by law, we have the safety of every cosmetic product we place on the market assessed by a qualified expert. Ethylhexyl salicylate is a substance that is expressly authorized by an entry in Annex VI of the EC Cosmetics Regulation. The requirements specified in the regulation (e.g. maximum concentration or use only in certain product categories) are of course complied with and therefore the use of this substance in this product is safe. Best regards, your M-Infoline team

The product is sold out in most stores. When will it be available again? Thank you for your reply.

Hello Sunlover31, due to high demand, the Sun Look Eco Face Fluid is currently not available. Unfortunately, we do not expect a replenishment until next season. We cannot give a more precise time frame. As an alternative, we recommend the Sun Look Ultra Sensitive Face. Best regards, your M-Infoline Team

Is the sunscreen safe for aquatic organisms, i.e. is it so-called coral-friendly? Thank you for your answer.

Hello Sunlover31, thank you for your question. The sunscreen is coral-friendly (compliant with the Hawaii Reef Act, i.e. without the octinoxate and oxybenzone sunscreen filters). Best regards, your M-Infoline team

You write "Water Resistant" on the packaging. What do I mean by this and what test was used to determine this? I noticed this because many products sold in Migros say "waterproof" or even "extra waterproof". Can you explain the difference to me? Thank you very much.

Hello Patricia84sarnen, thank you for your question. There is a generally recognized standard for testing water resistance in Europe. All products labeled "waterproof" have been tested according to this standard. According to this standard, waterproof means that at least 50% of the original protective performance is still present on the skin after swimming and bathing in water for twice 20 minutes. "Extra waterproof" means that at least half of the original protective performance is still present after four times 20 minutes in the water. Best regards, your M-Infoline team

Hello, I have a question about Eco sun creams. As far as I know, there are two methods for sun creams, those with organic filters and those with mineral filters. The mineral ones have the disadvantage that they leave a white film on the skin, and the organic ones have the disadvantage that the active ingredients can have a hormone-like effect and are therefore themselves suspected of being carcinogenic. Which method is used for the Eco sun cream? Thank you very much.

Hello colua, thank you for your inquiry. In view of your statements, we understand your concerns. It is correct that you contacted us so that we can make further clarifications. This process took some time. Please accept our apologies for the delay in responding. We will provide you with the requested information below: It is true that mineral UV filters generally leave a more or less strong white film on the skin. With some of the chemical UV filters, a hormone-like effect cannot be ruled out with certainty. However, the Sun Look Eco SPF 30 and SPF 50+ sun milk products do not contain any UV filters that are currently suspected of having hormone-like effects. The Face Fluid SPF 50+ uses a mineral UV filter titanium dioxide (nano) - together with a combination of chemical UV filters. As with the sun milk, however, filters with possible hormone-like effects are not used. We hope this information is helpful for you. Best regards, your M-Infoline team

Yes, that is very helpful. Thank you very much for the clarifications and the detailed answer!

Do you know whether it is still a mineral filter in nano size or whether this has been changed in the meantime? I would very much like to use the product, but no research has yet been carried out into the extent to which nanoparticles can penetrate/accumulate in the body and cause damage.

Hello Susilajn, thank you for your patience. As promised, we will get back to you with news from the specialist department. We are happy to confirm that the sun cream still contains nanoparticles - in the form of the mineral UV filter titanium dioxide. Nevertheless, it is important to us to address your concerns. Cosmetics must undergo a safety assessment before being launched on the market. Only if a designated expert confirms the safety of the product for the intended target group (e.g. adults, babies, small children), among others, may the product be placed on the shelves. The process of such an assessment is very extensive and complex. In addition to a range of information, such as the foreseeable use and the resulting exposure of the finished product, information on the individual raw materials, the manufacturing process and microbiological and physico-chemical data are also taken into account. The toxicological profiles of all raw materials contained in all cosmetic products are also of particular importance. The safety assessor uses the information on compatibility studies, data on raw materials and their application concentrations as well as the conditions under which a product is to be used - including, for example, the type, duration, frequency and place of application of the product - to assess the possible effects of the substance on human health. The product is only placed on the market if the safety assessor comes to the conclusion that there is no risk to human health when the product is used correctly. Based on the current state of scientific knowledge, all cosmetic products on the market in the EU can therefore be considered safe and harmless to human health. We understand that consumers may wish to avoid certain ingredients for individual reasons, but we would like to point out that the safety of all the sun protection products we offer on the market has been independently confirmed for the respective target group and that the products are safe for human health when used properly. Furthermore, the responsible scientific advisory body of the EU Commission has confirmed the safety of cosmetics containing nanoparticles. Only for certain sprays was the data situation insufficient for a professional assessment. The Commission has therefore recommended that nanoparticles should not be used in the sprays in question. In light of this recommendation, we generally refrain from using nanoparticles in sprayable formulations. All the sun sprays we produce therefore contain only UV filters that are not classified as nanomaterials. We hope these lines are informative for you. Best regards, your M-Infoline team
