Hello gasch, the “Sélection Mochi Glace Assorted” product is a standard product that contains no gluten-containing ingredients and for which no cross-contamination is expected (no “may contain” warning on the packaging). For products without gluten-containing ingredients (according to the ingredient list) and without a “may contain” warning, it can be assumed that they do not contain gluten or that any gluten content would be less than 200 mg per kilogram or liter of ready-to-eat food. Normally, products without gluten-containing ingredients and without a “may contain traces” warning can be safely consumed as part of a gluten-free diet, except in cases of very high sensitivity. However, it’s important to be aware that even special gluten-free products may contain traces of gluten (any such content is below 20 mg/kg or liter of ready-to-eat food). Have you recently changed the recipe? I used to love these mochis, but today I came across a new package inside and the texture of the rice paste was no longer elastic like I used to love them, but harder (despite the fact that I waited a while before eating them). Too bad :(

As no changes were made to the recipe, it was important for us to respond to your comment in a well-founded manner. The clarifications made with the relevant department took longer than expected. We're sorry to have to give you news only now. Here are the results of our investigations: Thanks to the information provided, we were able to check samples from the same production series, but found no irregularities. The same applies to the control of our production protocols. The product was processed in accordance with the established guidelines. In view of these results, we can rule out any general production defects. However, we do have our suspicions: Mochi" consists of a core of ice cream wrapped in a rice paste. These different textures make the products sensitive to temperature variations. It therefore seems natural to assume that the hard consistency is due to a break in the cold chain during preparation. We apologize for any inconvenience caused. We have immediately asked all areas involved to ensure correct product handling.
